have all recorded here recently as well as many more over the past 11 years.
I've been recording at Sub Studio since 1996 and have outfitted the place with some nice recording equipment. I record to either analogue or digital and mix through a mackie desk using hardware fx and plugins. The studio offers native digital recording using the samplitude platform which is real nice. The studio also has a 16 trk 1 inch analogue recorder which did everything for 10 years and has been used maybe twice in the last 18 months even though it is working perfectly and sounds real nice.
The place looks a bit shitty and is definately not "pro looking" go see my good buddies at headgap (see friends) if you want that treated experience (and send me the 10% ;) but people feel pretty comfortable here. The studio has a control room and playing room which isn't too dead or too live. Mostly drums are recorded outside the rooms on the balcony above the hall, so yes, tremendous live sounding drums can be achieved. Theres a lot of space for everyone, we had 11 of us once, two kits & a p.a up there, so yeh, it's very open plan and very suitable for live sounding stuff with the ability to isolate the amps and still have everyone in the same room.
Despite the control room being small there is plenty of space in the rest of the building and on the weekends it's nice and quiet and sunny here at the bushy surrounds of La Trobe.
I'm a pretty affable chap and you won't get a pushy engineer telling you how your music should sound, I'm from the school of "facilitation", i.e it's your music, i'm here to help you get what you want.

Hey Mate It only lasted for a few hours! Didnt have the balls to keep it long term. Been recording a bit with my new lap top. Got a fair amount of airplay with our recording from last year. Lots of triple R and some JJJ. I hope everything is going well for you. Let me know if ya going out on the town or whatever x x x

I really like the synths but my guitar even if it sounds organic and analog it is not the sound i always had in mind. But thats ok. I like it though. Hope everything is ok with you my friend. Nea is preg. again so N 2 is coming probably by the end of may. But i will be in cont. soon. Say by to the rest of the fam.

Yeah some random union guy has taken over your office now, and no one can get into the studio. I swiped my card like 4 weeks ago but I couldn't get in. By the way, I got an A for the feature article I did on SUB's demise.
I have gone over to SYN though and done their radio training. I applied for a show but didn't get a gig, so hopefully next block I'll have something to do. Until then I'm reading the news for them on Thursday arvo.
