SUBTRUCK is a 3 headed rock beast from the West Coast of Australia. Over the course of 4 uncompromising CD releases, numerous national tours, and support slots for the likes of The Mark of Cain and The Butterfly Effect, they have built themselves a formidable reputation as possessing one of the hugest sounds and tightest, toughest shows in the land. This has been acknowledged with 3 consecutive WAMi nominations for "Best Hard Rock Act" (just pipped at the post all 3 times by good buddies Karnivool) and a spot in Triple J presenter Andrew Haug's Top 5 Australian CDs for 2005 ("Ballbaring").
Following on from the release of their 2-disc "Pig Iron" CD early in 2006, the mighty 'Truck are set to release their first home DVD "Get Trucked". Lovingly compiled by Mr Mongoloid Dave, "Get Trucked" is a comprehensive 85 minute collection of audio/visual 'Truck goodness, including... VIDEO CLIPS (inc several never before seen) of "Joking", "Bough", "Detroit", "Controllo (Live)" and "Shotgun Time"... BOOTLEGS of live 'Truck sets at the Amplifier Bar in Perth (2006) and the Settlers Tavern (2004), the latter including an interview with local Margaret River primary school kids asking the tough questions... Plus THE FORGING OF 'PIG IRON', a warts'n'all behind-the-scenes featurette on the recording of their latest CD.
SUBTRUCK's "Get Trucked" DVD will be available to buy online from www.subtruck.com or from these select outlets nationally as of late December '06:
"Never a band to disappoint, Subtruck proceeded to serve up one of the most bruising displays of 'don't argue' rock you could ever hope to experience. 'Detroit' and recent single, 'Joking', threatened to smoke everything before and after as Phil Bradley and co. closed out one of the band's most memorable shows."
Live review of their Butterfly Effect support by Grant McCulloch, Xpress Magazine August 2006
"Definitely one of Perths great rock bands."
'Pig Iron' CD review by Claire Stuchbery, Beat Magazine July 2006
"These guys dont subscribe to the cliches of the business and their no-nonsense rock n roll reinforces that mantra. Subtruck is proof that simple, catchy riffs are all that you need to make good music, and thats exactly what this West Australian trio do. This is direct, powerful rock music built on the simple premise of a single guitar, bass, drums and vocals. Think Helmet. Think The Mark Of Cain. Think Subtruck. Its that simple."
'Pig Iron' CD review by Simon Milburn, The Metal Forge July 2006
"Without blowing smoke up anyones arse, Subtruck are easily one of Perths (if not Australias) most unique and identifiable sounding bands, and if there is any justice in the world they will become huge...their persistence and perseverance have allowed them to grow into a band that no-one else can touch."
Live review by Mike Wafer, Xpress Magazine June 2005
