Influences
Rush, Van Halen, Yes, Grand Funk, Bon Jovi, and Starship stand beside Switchfoot, Relient K, Dave Matthews Band, Thrice, and Anberlin as influences on our music. Zack and Dalton write all the tunes with Luke usually charging ahead on drums as the foundation of pretty much every song. The result is a blending of musical skill, lighthearted adolescence and powerful camaraderie made evident in every lyric and riff.
Sounds Like
We sound kinda like Grand Funk and Rush's lovechild, but only after getting hit by Relient K's tour bus.
We began as a side project in 2006. Our goal has always been to have fun playing while also releasing sometimes dangerous pent-up cheesiness. In this latest great leap on the road to rock actualization, we hope to reach others with our cheese and allow them to experience some of the fun implicit in being a Subüru Stallion.
The long-term goal of the Subüru Stallions is to continue bringing joy to others through their music for the sake of something greater than all of us.
On December 29, 2008, the Subüru Stallions added legendary Havertown musician Gil Groff to the group as their new bassist, making Dalt the rhythm guitarist.
In January 2009, the Subüru Stallions came to an end, amicably. Dalton Greiner decided to pursue other avenues of musical expression. Luke, Zack, and Gil continue to play in a cover band in the Philadelphia area, with a few originals every now and again.
