Electronic dance music (EDM), is a broad set of percussive music genres that largely inherit from 1970s disco music and, to some extent, the experimental pop music of Kraftwerk. Such music was originally borne of and popularized via regional nightclub scenes in the 1980s. It is constructed by means of electronic instruments such as synthesizers, drum machines and sequencers, and generally emphasizes the unique sounds of those instruments, even when mimicking traditional acoustic instrumentation. (…) Dance music typically ranges from 120bpm, up to 200bpm, with techno, trance, and house being the most widespread.
“Media” because we love music and we think it’s a good idea to show to the world the works of some artists we’ve find through friends, myspace, websites, netlabels… There are too many artists doing a great job out there to do nothing! We think we can contribute from this netlabel to promote this artists and make them rise.
“Subversive because” is a concept we adore… against the rules or the traditional ways and with full independence from regular labels, mass media or corporations, without any engagement or endorsement.
Subversive Media is a netlabel from Barcelona (Spain) Since 2007 we have been releasing productions, focused mainly on EDM, electronic dance music. The project is headed and proudly represented by Roger Mercader and Nikto, two Barcelona-based artists, working together since 2000 in different formations, projects and collectives. Adviruz is the artist psedonym of Istanbul’s Pinar Gurcan, whose growing passion for sound is translated through her music. Since an early age, she has been listening and mimicking opera singers, writing melodies, songs and poems in which she spoke her mind and reflected her soul. All of which are evident on "Nightly Sounds", an 8 track album which is the equivilent of having a glimpse into a diary, learning of love lost, gained, a snapshot of the human condition from which we can all draw experience... All of these things are developed musically into minimalistic glitch, noise, idm, experimental music and microsounds, its influences reminiscent of work by artists like Tujiko Noriko, Mira Calix, Plaid and Björk.

Nach einer schöpferischen Pause in den Sommermonaten konspirieren wir wieder musikalisch an einem der wärmsten, orginalsten, urbansten und freundlichsten Orte unseres beschaulichen Städtchens, dem ZMF am Rosenthaler Platz. Grund dieses Treffens ist kein geringerer, als die nunmehr sechste Release unseres kleinen aber feinen Labels zu feiern. Diese steht ganz im Zeichen eines Musikers aus Leidenschaft, CHARLES TONE ! Vielen von Euch bekannt von unzähligen, denkwürdigen Festen in und um Berlin. Anfang Dezember`09 wird seine 4-Track-Ep in nahezu allen Downloadshops dieser Erde zur Verfügung stehen. Doch solange müsst Ihr nicht warten, denn die ersten 50 Gäste dieses Abends erhalten als Gastgeschenk eine CD mit allen bisherigen Releases von Spule-Berlin und eben dieser, welche bis dato noch nicht im Handel erhältlich sein wird. Almost Tomorrow is the third full length collaboration album from Section 27 Netlabel founders Tam Ferrans and Andrew Paterson, under their Nonima & theAudiologist guise. This time around the sound is more melodic, and has a definite feeling of a complete and more mature sound than heard on the previous LP's "Dystopian Battle Hymns" and "Ceremony After Amputation". If you are familiar with their individual projects you may even be in for a slight surprise, as the tracks are not as beat driven like before, but are more atmospheric and sound, well... "bigger". In its 75 minutes, Almost Tomorrow takes you on a trip from the digital rain-soaked cavernous scraping in "Thoughtograph", the ethereal beat jittering of "The Colour of Rain", intercepted transmissions from unknown places in "Com-Intercept", "Ganzfeld"s huge yet strangely insect-like beats until everything you knew comes crashing around you in "Almost Tomorrow". Burning pianos, glitched out soundscapes and intricately programmed beatplay, this may well be their best work to date. Consider it the soundtrack to a rainy overcast day, but with just that glimmer of sunshine peeking from the clouds. "Almost Tomorrow" wears its heart on its sleeve.
