I'm a new wave and alternative music addict since my youth, started to go clubbing in the late 80ies in Zurich and other big cities. Chicago House in FLAMINGO, later the first Techno-Acid Parties at KAUFLEUTEN .. the times in Zurich with the illegal bars and parties folloewed. Then OXA and ENERGY, MAYDAY, FUTURESCOPE, SENSOR, ROGGWIL, GRODOONIA .. raves. Looking back now in 2008, the best music to dance to was definitely TRANCE and Progressive House, as played at OXA and SENSOR until about 1995. Then the sound became too simple, commercial.. hard, also negative (dark house like at Q). I still went clubbing a lot, ROHSTOFFLAGER, Q, UG etc (living in Zurich West) - but it was no more that good in the last years. I was a consumer - also of CONCERTS, Cure, DM, Radiohead, Simple Minds -- and a big music enthousiast for now over 20 years. It began with SOUNDS (F- Muerner) in 1980 - I had my own synth equipment, had one of the biggest collections of liverecorings in europe, made many bootleg cds, for 'Swingin' Pig' and other labels, but was never a DJ - only at recent 40th birtday party (reloaded.ch) I played for the 1st time for a crowd of 100 ppl - some dance classics how I define them, some REMEMBER trance, some 80ies takebacks. I've always wanted to be a DJ, but never really took enough time to really start - digital only, no vinyl.. cannot see why taking analog technics for 100% digitally produced music.. so : I have computer programs like 'traktor' and 'reason' and then & when I play around a bit, when I find some time as father of 2 small kids. Also I started to play guitar. Maybe i'm gonna open a club once and finally show ppl what I always meant when I critizised clubs and parties. Have new concept ideas - '3Disco' (the synchronisation of space, light and sound) and 'No-DJ.com' are catchwords - we'll see.
