Seriously, I have an urban sound laced HEAVILY with soul samples. My beats could be applied to many musical genres.
Sub Z, DJ Extraordinaire a.k.a SubZero is a 2nd-generation DJ. My dad (DJ Superfly) Is well known throughout the S.W. Louisiana as a top-notch mobile DJ. My uncle (DJ Supersperm, now retired) was a major influence.
I've been living in Honolulu since '89 & been djing here since '94. I've been djing since the age of 13.
I started making beats around '95-'96 with the group A.B.Y.S.S.Men. In '98 I decided go out on my own & formed a group called Laborynh in '99. When the members started persuing solo ventures in '02, I formed my second act called DVS (formerly known as StrongArm). After some minor success, the group disbanded.
Now concentrating on music production, I still make beats for former band mates.
Al Sharp Tounge (NJ.), Mr. V (TX.), A. Butta (NY.), N.M.E. (Conn.), Perfect Strangahz (HI.) and the list goes on & on.....
