I’m on MySpace to meet and share ideas and successes with positive-minded, entrepreneurial individuals, and to have the pleasure of showing others how to achieve their goals.

But first, let me share my story…

I grew up in Southern California with a younger brother and sister, a stay at home mom and a career dad. My father was of the “work hard when you work…so you can play hard when you play” mindset. And we did…from the time I was little over 2 years old we spent most winter weekends skiing in the nearby mountains and spent most summer weekends at the beach. I don’t think we missed a year at summer camp with either the YMCA or Boy Scouts.

Dad taught us work ethic, responsibility and team work.

My mother was the ultimate at getting along with others. Fortunately, some of it rubbed off on us kids. She taught us respect for others and to find joy in others' successes and happiness.

Looking back, when we were young, we didn’t know how lucky we were!

Those years of youth went by quickly…Eagle Scout, High School, college at Ohio State University, 3 great kids, material possessions and the bills that accompany them…always working hard and playing hard. I still love skiing and the beach. But, now they are part of an almost-daily routine!

In 1991 I married my best friend, Barbara. A school teacher who loved her job, she retired recently at the young age of only 45 and we now spend every day together.

Life is good!

Today we live on a small lake in the Adirondacks in Northern New York State. Summers revolve around sailing, kayaking, hiking, and just sitting on the deck enjoying the outdoors with friends. Last summer we even took up motorcycles!

In the winter, it’s skiing and snowshoeing. I teach skiing 5 days a week at a resort just 10 miles away…a hobby I’ve loved for 40 years now.

Barbara and I have watched the three kids grow from happy, playful children to happy, productive adults.

Erica chose an intelligence career in the U.S. Navy and has had the opportunity to see the world as she serves our country. Joe III and Matt have set out in the business world and are living the good life in Southern California. We are so very proud of each of them.

My first exposure to the home business industry was in the 70’s. Friends invited us over for coffee one evening and ended up sending us home with a box of “products” to try out. I did not get involved in the business…but the concept of leveraged income stuck in my mind.

Years later I went on a job interview that turned out to be a smoothly-done business opportunity meeting. I remembered the concept of leverage from years ago. It just made sense. I went to a pay phone (no cell phones then) to call Barbara. Like always, she went along with me. Shortly later I was on my way home with about a thousand dollars worth of water and air filters.

A new career was born!

But it wasn’t easy. In fact, I really struggled. I wasted hundreds of dollars each month on "hot" leads and spent 3 or 4 hours every evening in our spare bedroom acting as a second-rate telemarketer...only to be told no or worse yet, cursed at and hung up on.

I sheepishly approached my friends, neighbors and relatives to the point that they avoided me. I tried dragging contacts to opportunity meetings at a local hotel. And on top of it all, I was foolish enough to believe that when one of them finally did enroll, they would do the same things I was doing...and be successful.

I finally got it!

I loved the industry and the idea of working for myself. I believed in the concept of leveraged income...so I kept at it. Several years and several companies later, I finally got it. I learned to build my business the smart way and quickly went on to be recognized as one of the top enrollers in my whole company 3 years in a row!

You can have it, too!

I continue to expand on these techniques as I build my business today and take pleasure in mentoring others to success, also.
