Suchet plays instruments from the world's rhythm cultures--the tabla from India, darbouka, daholla & framedrums from Egypt, the Kurdish def, djembes from Ghana & Gambia, cajon from Peru, bongos from Cuba, the Congolese ududrum and the aboriginal yidaki/didgeridoo from Australia. Add to this a diverse collection of world and ambient instruments, and you have an acoustic performer whose repertoire spans the globe.
He plays with diverse projects, encompassing oriental & latin jazz, worldbeat, organic trance & groove-pop. He creates soundscapes for documentaries, music for theatre performances and commercials for radio & television.
Classes, rehearsals and jams take place at his ancestral home in New Delhi; he travels to Europe often.

Projects/Live Performances
STORIES THROUGH SOUND is Suchet's solo work in which he creates soundscapes through a medley of instruments-drums, percussion, didgeridoo, flutes & ambient instruments. With eyes open you see craft at work--instrument upon instrument creating layers of sound that come at you in waves. With eyes closed you ride through a magical world on a carpet of sound.
Performed entirely acoustic, Stories through Sound is a showcase of world music and percussion. Performed as an electro-dance set, it is a showcase of high-energy dance music.
DA SAZ is an electronic musician, a percussionist and a vocalist who sings in the four Indic languages of the sufis-Hindustani, Urdu, Farsi and Punjabi. The project signed to major label Phat Phish in 2007 and released Jet Lag in 2008, featuring international artistes and a full chamber orchestra. Recently, they played the opening day of Rocktoberfest in New Delhi.
With the WANNY ANGERER LATIN-JAZZ QUARTET, Suchet plays on a special hybrid of jazz drums and percussion. Concert pianist Svetlana Radashkevich from Russia plays jazz and classical pieces while Wanny sings in four languages-Spanish, English, Portuguese and French. Soloist Rajesh Prasanna plays flute.
MYSTIQUE plays oriental-jazz and is one of Delhi's pioneering instrumental bands. As a duo/trio, the group showcase stunning instrumental virtuosity. As an ensemble they delight with melody and harmony. Guests perform often. The band is currently editing & mixing their second CD in New Delhi and often play live in the city.

After a stellar Ladakh Confluence, it was hard to come down to earth (literally, the Confluence was at 11,500 feet!). Straight away, I began to compose music for the original dance production TILT, by Anusha Lall, which was performed the 24th & 25th at Max Mueller Bhawan. I also played percussion for another dance production, The Veil, which showed on the 26th & 27th. Earlier, on the 18th, I played a electro-guitar-percussion set with Sajid on guitar and Jayant on electro at Cibo (pronounced CH-EE-BOW).
