What do you do when you are chosen to carry on the legacy of the greatest Hip Hop show of all time? Well, if your name is Sucio Smash you make sure your show continues to be the best ever. After being personally chosen by Bobbito Garcia to hold down the Stretch & Bobbito show, Sucio Smash alongside his partner Timm See has been representing on the New York City airwaves via WKCR 89.9FM and the world via Squeezeradio.podomatic.com with the Squeeze Radio show.
Named one of America’s top Djs by Complex Magazine, Best Hip Hop Show by Time Out New York and Best Radio Show by Tablist Magazine, Sucio Smash has rocked parties with the world’s greatest DJs and producers. Including DJ Premier, Marley Marl, Evil Dee and Prince Paul to name a few.
Sucio Smash is an international DJ who plays at New York’s best night clubs and held residencies at spots including the world’s famous Knitting Factory, APT and the now defunct Table 50 were he ran a monthly party alongside Pete Rock. He has also performed at the legendary Rock Steady Crew Anniversary and The Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival 3 years straight.
In 2008 Sucio celebrated 5 years on the airwaves with one of the most classic shows in radio history, 25 MCS and 5 Producers live on the air! That year also marked the 1st Anniversary of “The Lunchroom”, an event established by Smash and the only place in New York that showcases the best Hip Hop talent on a monthly basis. The Lunchroom so far has featured Large Professor, A.G. (D.I.T.C.), Blu, El Da Sensei, J-Live, Juggaknots, Torae, Skyzoo, John Robinson aka Lil’ Sci, Chip Fu and Shabaam Sahdeeq to name a few.
2008 also marked a new beginning for Mr. Smash when he launched High Water Music. So far the label has released a 12” by Sputnik Brown “R U Havin’ Fun Yet?” and a digital single by P.CASSO “Mr. Hollywood”. Both releases have been critically acclaimed and featured in numerous publications including XXL. High Water Music also presented special showcases during the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival weekend and CMJ week in New York city.
Next releases on the label for 2008 are P.CASSO’s album “For Your Consideration”, Señor Kaos “Girls Rock Too” (digital single), Ben Grymm & Shawn Jackson “Back in My World” (7” and Digital) and Daniel Joseph “Demo Season” (mix CD).
