Stretch and Ben met in 2001 when Stretch was working with Vern as the infamous Stretch& Vern and Ben was freshly signed to Verns Spot On imprint.
In August 2002 the guys decided to make ‘ a ‘ track together and formed the infamous SUCKER DJ’S.
It was clear they worked well and by Autumn 2002 they had produced a number of tracks including ‘ It’s Gotta Be ‘ which was duly signed by Seb and Vern to Spot On in January of 2003.
By the summer of 2003 the stand out track on the Ep ‘ It’s Gotta Be ‘ was being played by some of the biggest dj’s in Europe, and it wasn’t long before Azuli snapped it up. It was released in February 2004 and went on to become one of azuli’s biggest records for years.
But it wasn’t only Azuli who had started to notice the Sucker Dj’s. In the summer of 2003, Kinky Vinyl Records London signed the Funky Houser ‘ Lotta Lovin’ along with ‘ Circles ‘ & ‘ Outdoor Punks ‘.
In summer 2004 ‘ Lotta Lovin’ ‘ now with a Paradise Soul remix became Pete Tongs Essential New Tune on his BBC Radio1 show The Essential Selection, and Buzz Charted at No3 and No2 consecutively raising their profile to a new level.
2005 saw the sucker djs pick up where they left off. 2 new releases on Kinky (Everybody/Eyes On You and Banrock) were well recieved , and as always by a wide variety of djs. Roger Sanchez and Erick Morillo included ‘ Eyes On You ‘ in their charts and mixes for 2 months and the Suckers even played a guest mix on Sanchez’ worldwide show ‘ Release Yourself ‘ as well as being included on new compilation of the same name.
Remixes on Positiva and Serial in France in late 2005, as well as highly acclaimed underground tracks on Whoop! rounded of a spectacular year for the boys.
2006 was another big year for the boys, with tours of Europe and Austrailia and the release of the massive ' Firework ' on Toolroom records. In 2007 there is still no let up with their new single ' Salvation ' Featuring Wray on vocals. Already an Essential new tune for Pete tong on Radio 1 in August. Also forthcoming is their collaboration with Armand Van Helden on Southern Fried.
