General
Music, comic books, movies, TV, history, video games, baseball (lifelong NY Yankees fan––deal with it), current events, politics.
Music
Where do I begin? Okay, I'll give it a shot, in no particular order and just free association. Elvis Costello, PJ Harvey, The Decemberists, The Eels, The Heartless Bastards, Cat Power, Nekko Case, Joanna Newsom, Sufjan Stevens, Devendra Banhart, Macy Gray, Radiohead, Frank Sinatra, Tom Waits, White Stripes, Sonic Youth, the Doves, Beirut, Yo La Tengo, TV On The Radio, Beach House, M.Ward, Bob Dylan, the Beatles, the Clash, the Rolling Stones, Joni Mitchell, Kristin Hersh, Tanita Tikaram, R.E.M.,Lou Reed, the Velvet Underground, Jeffrey Gaines, Lisa Gerrard, Dead Can Dance, This Mortal Coil, Captain Beefheart, Johnny Cash, Van Morrison, 10000 Maniacs, Jethro Tull, Jimi Hendrix,Patti Smith,Nick Drake, Harold Budd, Tim Buckley, U2,Public Enemy, the Pogues, the Replacements, Wilco, XTC, Harold Budd, Sinead O'Connor, Miles Davis, John Coltrane. Also love a lot of classical music, New Age, and Soundtracks.
Movies
A mixed bag of works by specific directors and individual films. All Stanley Kubrick films (Barry Lyndon is my all time favorite), Orson Welles (particularly Citizen Kane, The Magnificent Ambersons, and Touch of Evil), Sergei Eisenstein, Terrence Malick (Days of Heaven, Thin Red Line, The New World), Maya Deren, Lindsay Anderson, Wes Anderson, Woody Allen (Manhattan, Hannah and Her Sisters), Coen Brothers, Akira Kurosawa, The Godfather films, Apocalypse Now, Heat, Pulp Fiction, Resevoir Dogs, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Martin Scorsese (Goodfellas, Casino, Gangs of New York),Spike Lee, some Oliver Stone like. JFK, Nixon. The Natural. Tons of Westerns, including (The Wild Bunch, Tombstone). Die Hard,Alien, Films of Zhang Yimou, including Hero and Raise the Red Lantern. Lost in Translation. The list goes on.
Television
Recent or current: Flight of the Conchords, Mad Men, John From Cincinnati, Deadwood, Battlestar Galactica, The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Extras, Entourage, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Shield. All time: Saturday night Live, 1975-app.2000, The Simpsons, Seinfeld, Twin Peaks, TV Funhouse (Comedy Central circ 2000), Lonesome Dove, original Star Trek. Love documentaries of all kind too.
Books
I admit I read mostly non-fiction, mostly history. (When not reading comic books, of course.) I credit the work of the late author Barbara Tuchman for instilling a 30 year passion of history. I read everything I have time to read on the America Revolution and the founding fathers, European history from the 18th through the 20th centuries, Napoleon, and Hitler.
I have also spent the last 12 years or so researching everything about the Donner Party, in the hopes of one day finishing a screenplay on their story. I also enjoy the occasional biography, books on cinema, and at one time I would read just about any book on early baseball history.

Hey there,
Here's one from left field...
Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
I encourage all to visit the YouTube page to learn more (Show support! Rate! Comment!) and responsibly circulate as widely as possible, here:

Help to raise awareness.
Say have you checked out my web site recently?
Take care and keep in touch.

Because "Jazz: Cool Birth" is inspired by '50s album cover design, transporting readers into 1957 jazz clubs, we're hearing interest from musicians and music lovers. Since "Jazz" is a murder mystery, mystery readers are also intrigued. Add to that comic book readers that enjoy Xeric grant winning indy books and we expect a rush of orders from September's Previews.
So many readers like you are enjoying Aazurn. com's done-in-one comic book short stories we are encouraged to continue to offer single story books! Thanks for helping us prove comics can be good, adult reading!
