Influences
Although I hope I don't sound like anybody else, If you've listened to music
you're influenced whether your want to be or not.
When I was younger my dad kept playing Ella and Sarah records. I just loved the richeness of their voices. Then there was Annie Ross and even the Andrews sisters. not only that there was the wonderful sounds and tempos of Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillesby. I mean How can you not be inspired by all that glorious music.
I really like some of the younger singers Ian Shaw, Liaine Carrol,and Zoe Schwartz. and boy what a lot of wonderful voices there are on myspace I feel really preveleged to have such an diverse mixture of friends.
As for my writing. I don't know what influences me. Sometimes the songs seem to have already been there they just needed plucking out of the ethos.
One of my songs "Little piece of Heaven" I woke up with in my head, tune lyric and everything. I'm not sure what I believe in But Thanks whoever or whatever it is thats up there.
I Originally started singing with local bands in the Bournemouth area. Eventually moving to London where I formed Sketch with Rob Koral We have recorded and performed at most of the venues (Ronnies, Pizza on the Park, Festival hall ) I have also appearered at many Jazz festivals including Brecon, Glasgow, Edinburgh.
I have specialised in guitar and voice genre. Recently I've been writing with Dorset pianist Guy Gardner. We have recorded a c.ds worth of music (all Original )
we recorded the tracks at the Cowshed in London. Mark Fletcher was on drums and Nick Kacal double bass. I think we've managed to create an interesting sound.

Hi Sue! Thanks for the CD, I received it earlier in the week. Although, I regret to say it was the sheet music I'd regrettably misplaced, not the CD. Now I have 2 copies! Oh well. I shall keep the CD's in separate locations, then if I lose one, I'll still have the other!! Hope things are going swimmingly (regarding the awful weather we have at the mo!)
