   About Sue Wighton solo/Unsung Heroes
I'm a Brisbane based singer songwriter with broad musical interests and influences. I started playing guitar and singing folk music (all sorts) when I was young - which I still love. I also sing jazz, mainly swing tunes and ballads. In recent years I've written my own songs which I perform solo and with my small country/folk/bluegrass outfit called The Unsung Heroes. I'm forever grateful to my enthusiastic band members - Ian Dodd (mandolin and vocals) John Barton (bass) and Luke Moller (fiddle). Artists I admire include Eva Cassidy, Blossom Dearie, Loudon Wainwright, Frank Sinatra. I also love Gillian Welch. I love to perform in a concert setting where I can really engage with an audience - telling great stories and sharing emotions.

Friday 8th is the night before our next show and we will be rehearsing in the morning.

The likelihood of me behaving myself, driving home early, avoiding smoking and not sounding like a parrot the next day is rather slim.

To make it worse, we are playing on Redlands weekend as well. Pah. Who's the bloody manager????

I went to the jam at Closeburn last night. It was the quietest jam I'd ever seen. No lights, no people, the hot water urn wasn't on, there were no boys hanging out suspiciously in the paddock - even Howard & Betty weren't there!! And why?

Because it's on NEXT WEEKEND ..

Good to see you made it on to the WWW. I loved your album. I've been playing at The Kookaburra, Brookfield, Ferny Grove Tavern, Red Hill and yesterday at Beenleigh Historic Village. I want to give Mad Ass a go but keep running out of energy by Thursday night. I might go this week.

Nope Susie it's definitely cool! Tragically cool perhaps? So cool it's in fact the saddest thing you've ever experienced? No?... Well... you're cool.... :)
