Blurbs

About me:

Suffolk 'n' Cool is an international, music-based podcast, usually produced at a barn/studio near Woodbridge on the east coast of the UK (about 90 miles north-east from London). Since January 2006 the show has built a reputation for showcasing new, independent music from great talents which are emerging all around the world.

Find out lots more and take a listen to the show right now at: www.suffolkandcool.com

Suffolk 'n' Cool does not recognise borders - whether between countries, cultures or post-codes.

The digital revolution means that artificial barriers (created by the old system) between musicians and their audiences are now irrelevant. The show's mission is to re-make those broken connections and so:
> bring great music to listeners
> get the music out to a world-wide audience
> build a whole new "fair-trade" economy so that musicians are justly rewarded for their talent and effort.

Who I'd like to meet:

Talented musicians and others with something that deserves a wider audience.

FRIENDS CATEGORIES
To help users find what they are looking for, friends are allocated to categories.

On the Show - this category is limited to artists that I've played ... er ... on the show. The other categories are just as obvious!
The "Top" friends (below) are the 35 artists most recently featured on the show, so they are really easy to find.

Listeners - who give the buzz that makes the show such a joy to produce. I'd love to have you as a 'friend' so please click on the Add link and get it moving. Please put "listener" in the message panel when you make your request. You'll be very welcome.

The Business is the category for all the venues, studios, promoters, labels, etc. who keep the indie music scene on the road. If you are looking for a service - it would be a good place to browse. For inclusion, please include "Business" in the message panel when you make a friend request.

Then, of course, there is the competition (nah, not really).
Music Podcasters whose hearts are in the music and who are committed to getting it out there.

To explore the categories click "Show all friends" and then the categories tag.

    err... music?
  • Music

Pretty much every genre has worth - it's just a bit harder to find it in some!
  • Movies

    Cohen Brothers
  • Television

No! Despite being involved in video production, I believe that TV is a numbing influence. Switch it off and DO something ... anything!
  • Heroes

CB - for helping my ears to see amazing music through Island.
Adam - for triggering the revolution.
Every musician played on the show - for trusting the new way of working...

For a limited period only, pop on over to my joint to hear 5 covers recently recorded as a session for the ace MARK WHITBY'S DANDELION RADIO SHOW.
Yes, they're all covers and yes they all have 'CITY' in the title hence 'TALES FROM THE CITY'.
    These are they :
    SUFFRAGETTE CITY - MR BOWIE
NUTBUSH CITY LIMITS - IKE AND TINA TURNER
THE TRAIN FROM KANSAS CITY - THE SHANGRI LAS
    SIN CITY - AC/DC
WE BUILT THIS CITY - JEFFERSON STARSHIP
Four of those tunes have been treated with the respect they deserve and one of those cities has been visited by the wrecking ball, come find out which one.....

    SIN CITY - AC/DC

Thanks a lot for the add ! EletriKa sounds completely different from any Metal band you have ever heard. The Brazilian rhythms and the Portuguese language added to the songs makes its style unique, giving birth to a new kind of Metal. If you are really looking for something new about Metal, you should check EletriKa out!

Peter, thank you for featuring "Icons Among Us" in your show!! I just listened to it and it was really great. I thought the commentary was right on the mark. This doc really was created to show just how much the music has progressed as well as evolved. You really picked up on that. The word "jazz" no longer has to equate to being complex , boring or even historical. This generation of players listen to all sorts of different genres, from rock to hip-hop, etc.. which is influencing the sound and rhythm of the music. Thanks again. Love listening to your show ! ~ M.Rivoira and the Icons team
