God, Freedom, Truth, My family, My Friends. Blessed with the most brilliant and creative children. All now young adults. Each trying to make a difference in this world.. one vote.. one voice..one helping hand at a time. Laughter and spending time together is a big part of our lives. The best siblings and The World's Greatest Father.
Children are all grown and on their own. I'm finding that to be another one of many of life's blessings... My babies can fly. The highlight of 2007: My baby brought a baby into this world. That is pure Heaven sent bliss.
My friends. Again, truly blessed with wonderfully caring friends. I can't stress enough how blessed I truly am to be surrounded by loving, positive people. Good folk who accept me as I am and don't give me too much flack for trying to live my own truth's. So, I reckon it's people that interest me the most?
I'm a blog freak. I get on a soapbox regarding all kinds of issues.. or non-issues. I tend to go on and on and have to force myself to "never miss a good opportunity to shut the hell up."!
All the gal's in the house say, "yee haww!"
Love riding motorcycles. Dont own one. So, for now. I'm always the passenger...and I ain't complainin' one lil bit! BUT one day I will have my own bike again. (Thank ya Uncle Hank for your support on this issue. You not only rock, you roll!) Somethin' about feelin' the wind.. the power of the machine..the feeling of freedom that riding brings....it's a glorious addiction.
Keep your bike in good repair: Motorcycle boots are NOT comfortable for
walking. There are drunk riders. There are old riders. There are NO old, drunk riders. Thin leather looks good in the bar, but it won't save your butt from
road rash if you go down.
As she tossed back her gorgeous dark auburn hair, flashing her ever so familiar gorgeous smile, big eyes sparkling, my momma looked at me and in her slow - southern style said, "Sugah, sexy is a state of mind. Good looks are a luck of the gene pool. You're doubly blessed." Gee, I miss her.
I love just about anything outdoors from concerts to canoeing to diggin' in the garden.
How good is a fresh, plump, juicy, ripe 'mater straight from the vine?
Love to cook. Love wines. Love music. How good is it to share good company, good food, good music and good wine?
Love to sit on José's porch swing and breathe. Thanks for that, partner.
My view from José's front porch.
I'm fast becoming a computer...
Music plays almost 24/7 at the Sugah Shack. Gotta have music. Love to dance. Hey, not sayin' Im good at it,but LOVE IT!
Raising a family, caring full time for my aging parents, and volunteerin' in my community were major parts of my life. They didn't pay well but the rewards were tremendous.
That's all changed now and I would love to find employment in Public Relations / music promotion field.
As well as freelance web blogger.
My dream job would include cartoons and music!

Music
Music depends on the mood I'm in or the mood I want to be in. Funky beats, great grooves, riff's, pickin', harmonies and lyrics that move me or allow me the pleasure of knowing the writer.
From classic rock to classical.....
I appreciate it all. Anything I can shake my bubble butt to.
The KING!
The KILLER!
The MAN IN BLACK!
The FAB FOUR!
I've long had this 'thing' for folk music. Balladeers -- gifted songwriters -- storytellers like Hoyt Axton, Kacy Crowley, a new favorite is Alex Bevan outta Ohio and of course Bob Cheevers.
My friend and fellow Memphian, Bob Cheevers rates #1 in my book as a man who can spin a yarn as good as my own maternal granddaddy. Songs of the Civil War. Ballads of love or the ending of love. Songs of dreams, hopes and even songs to make one laugh. Bob's music is steeped deeply in Memphis -- Southern roots. My roots. Muddy Mississippi Delta roots.
"Bob is the New Mark Twain and the Great American Writer." -- John Tita of Polygram Music NY
As you can see, I'm fairly open to all music. If a song comes on the radio and doesn't sound pleasin'... I can easily replace it with something that does.

Movies
Bringing Up Baby, Pillow Talk, A River Runs Through It, Dances With Wolves,Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, It's a Mad,Mad,Mad World,Adam's Rib, ( Tracy & Hepburn fan)...The Glass Menagerie... To date, I'd have to recommend every movie I've seen with Johnny Depp.
Television
When I can sit still long enough...My all time favorite and still to this day my favorite is The Andy Griffith Show. Can't say enough good things about this show. From writing to casting to leaving one with a sense of - there is good in this world and we can handle most things through communication and good ole common sense.

Books
ahhh, the joy, comfort and knowledge one gets from reading a good book!
Little Women,A River Runs Through It, Memoirs of a Geisha, Where the Heart Is, Animal Farm, To Kill a Mockingbird, Grapes of Wrath, The Adventures of Huck Finn. Most all of the great American Classics...my darker side loves Anais Nin -- Children of the Albatros. For laughs, I love Bless Your Heart Tramp,or We're Just Like You Only Prettier, by Celia Rivenbark -- all her works are hystercially funny.
Heroes
Have always been cowboys? (I couldn't resist!)
Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.0.1) he-ro: a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities.
Says a lot, doesn't it?
My two daughters. My dear friend Susie David. What an amazing woman. She's definitely one of my top hero's.
My mother who has now gone onto a better place. She was a remarkable woman and the love of my father's life. The queen of southern (Memphis) Social Graces. She taught us to laugh at ourselves, to work hard, play hard, and give hard.
My other hero's are my father and both my grandfathers.
All God loving/fearing, noble men of character. My oldest brother -- a remarkable man and loyal brother, father, son, uncle,
husband, boss, and friend.
My middle brother for over coming many hard obstacles.
My father set a real high mark for those two... and for generations to come.

Living my childhood passions with the grace and wisdom of an adult. Having so much fun!
I learned long ago that money doesn't buy me happiness, but somehow it sure was more comfortable to cry in my Mercedes than a hooptie!

Pretty easy going gal. Simple things for my simple mind - yet creative and curious.
Like to stay busy with family and friends. Love to ride. Love to be outdoors. If it rolls, floats or flies - count me in!
Enjoy:
My girls, my granddaughter, my family and friends, laughter, genuine smiles, live music, learning, sharing, road trips, hot boots, a room full of kick ass shoes, vintage clothing, clean sheets, my pillow, lip gloss, manicures, willow trees,
turquoise over diamonds, front porch swings, motorcycles; street or dirt, horses, airplanes, boats, a good game of backgammon, volunteering, holding hands,
snowball fights, rolling in the leaves, thunderstorms, kissing in the rain, sunsets, sunrises, slow dancing with that special someone, playing on my computer, chocolate martini's, crown on the rocks with lime, bottle of Sterling or Kendall Jackson Cabernet shared makes for a happier gal! Love the feel of the thin rim of a wine glass on my lips as I inhale the fragrance while sipping. yeah...that's good stuff.

I like just about everyone but I really enjoy meeting folks that are positive, happy, funny, passionate, creative, driven, innovative, and most importantly to me - folks that are living their own truths.

Prayer For A Friend ----------------------
I sent a prayer to God today Because you are my friend. I asked that He bring your problems Abruptly to an end.
I prayed for resolution, And for all your trials to cease. But most of all, oh friend of mine, I asked for God to bring you peace.
