I am NOT Sugarbomb. I am merely a fan who thought that there should be a Sugarbomb page. hope ya dig it.....
Although officially formed in March of 1998, most of Sugarbomb’s bandmembers had been friends for years beforehand. Beginning in October of that same year, Sugarbomb played around the Texas area on a regular basis, signing with indie label Rainmaker Records in early 1999, and issuing their debut recording, Tastes Like Sugar, in the summer. The album successfully caught the attention of RCA Records, who signed the group shortly thereafter and released their sophomore effort, Bully, in September of 2001.
Les is a Jellyfish inspired artist and it shows. I really like the "Bully" CD. It has well crafted songs with melodies that just stay with you all day. I also enjoy "Tastes Like Sugar" for the tracks that are not on "Bully" plus the alternate recordings of the ones that are. I play the songs all day at work everyday. There aren't that many bands to do that with these days. Thanks for the add...
I'm sad to say that I never discovered this band until they were history, and I only live a couple hours away from their base. CRAP! Bully is one of my all-time favorite albums. How can I get the first one?
If they ever do a re-union gig I hope I can come out and take some photos.
HEY I LISTEN TO YOU GUYS EVERYDAY!!! GREG IS MY HUSBAND'S UNCLE!!! I LOVED YOU BEFORE I MET MY HUSBAND AND LISTENED TO "HELLO" ALL THE TIME, BUT WHEN TONY AND I GOT TOGETHER HE TOLD ME THAT GREG WAS IN A BAND CALLED SUGARBOMB AND I WAS PSYCED ABOUT IT!! ANYWAYS I WILL ALWAYS LOVE SUGARBOMB!!! ;) MUCH RESPECT!!!
I taped the final Sugar Bomb show and have it on a CD ROM. I titled it "Taste's Like Bootleg" contact me if you want to get a copy of it. I shot it with a small handy cam mostly from up front...I was partying but it's still a good tape...sound is not perfect but good enough to see how kig ace they were live.
thx for the add. i heard "hello" on the van wilder (i believe it was) movie, and looked you up and bought a copy of bully. That song is one of the best songs ever written, its awsome. Thanks for writing such cool music for the world. Well my ears love it, and my friends love it too. cheers!
By the way, pretty sure Les is still playing the piano bar at Del Frisco (off the tollway and spring valley ) on Saturday nights. A friend and I are going to go check it out soon, see if he's still there, so I'll keep you posted.
Ebay was good to me. I got my copy of the Japanese import of "Bully" in the mail TODAY! Now if I could find a copy of "Tastes Like Sugar", my life would be that much better.
