Sugar Cookie is a band by proxy; none of the musicians on this recording performed in the same room at the same time. Instead, each phase of the recording was transferred between contributors via the internet and US mail. Album producer Dan Sorensen conceived of a unique way to make music with artists he admired but whose schedules did not allow for a more traditional collaboration. He recorded complete drum arrangements and passed them on to 4 songwriters: Bryan Thomas, Ben Karis, Martha Kronholm, and Troy Pohl. Each writer applied a unique treatment to their respective pieces and returned them to Sorensen. Olivia Nix then provided supporting vocals to both Karis tunes. From there, the tracks were passed on to Bob Buckley to record bass. Finally, Frank Moscowitz, (in addition to his duties as co-producer, engineer, and mixer) provided guitar, vocal, and keyboard tracks to complete each recording. The result is a surprisingly cohesive record, and a warm representation of the vibrant Albany, NY music scene. Please enjoy.

Hello! Passing out some show info for shows we have in the Albany area this weekend:
Ben Karis-Nix and band will be playing two shows in their native Albany. Now dubbed the 'Lightning Strikes Twice' tour, these dates are in support of two excellent respective causes: Fire relief and Rock. *New show details appear below*
1/18 - Tonight: Valentine's Music Hall (17 New Scotland Ave., Albany, New York 12207) featuring The Spike Emerson Society, BKN, and 28N closing the night (www.myspace.com/28n). The aim of this show is the more ignoble of the two; the melting of the face and forcible sock ejection.
1/20 - Sunday: Tess's Lark Tavern (453 Madison Ave., Albany, NY 12210) This event is a benefit for Eric and Karen Buckley (www.myspace.com/buckleybenefits) who lost all of their worldly possessions in a recent house fire. BKN at 4:15 PM. Many, many more performers!! For a list of performers & set times check out www.myspace.com/buckleybenefits.
We hope to see you there!
Sounding good, sounding real good. You have new fans in Canada.
Cheers,
Joe Chisholm host IndieCan Radio www.indiecan.com info@indiecan.com THIS WEEK: Episode 63 includes globe trotting, thought provoking Ember Swift, live at IndieCan + Halifax POP Explosion and more.
