Most people make comments such as "It's great to hear a band enjoying themselves" or "You guys know how to have a good time" when describing Sugardaddy's sound. The Sugardaddy sound is a cohesive blend of rock and various other influences such as indie, backbeat and, frequently, country, but it has also been known to feature funked-up disco on occasion - it all really depends on what floats their boat on any given day and they don't apologise for that. Sugardaddy believe that songs don't have to be miserable to have depth or plastic to be up for a laugh - good songwriting can make people smile and have a wee jig and that's why Sugardaddy write songs with balls, white mans' soul and a few knee tremblers for the ladies.
Anyone who likes to dance and have a laugh is a fan of Sugardaddy - they just don’t know it yet. Pogo line dancing and the now patented 'Frank Jagger' (shapes of Jagger and Frank Spencer combined) are favourites given the band's repertoire.
Sugardaddy have now been on the go since the millennium and have become regular and recognised faces on the central Scotland circuit. Most of the band were aware of each other at school but didn't get together to form Sugardaddy until afterwards. A number of drummers have come and gone which has sadly meant that the band have not been as prolific as they would like but, like a fine wine or a horny teenager, the band's sound has mellowed and become wiser with age which mean that there are no regrets.
