Junior Kimbrough, RL Burnside (RIP), T-Model Ford, Mississippi Fred McDowell, The Rolling Stones, Tom Waits, King Tubby, Lee Perry, The Gits, the BellRays, Fugazi, Wilson Pickett (RIP). A nod to Alan Lomax, for all that he did without ever playing a note.
Plus props to all of you for coming out and supporting us ALL over the country, and across the globe. It inspires .....
I put pair of headsets on and playing in them was Mississippi Fred McDowell....one man, one guitar. The bass the rhythm and the leads were three men in his two hands. It fucked me up good. I have spent every moment since, trying to climb that polyrythmic mountain. Listening to R.L Burnside, Junior Kimbrough, T-Model Ford, Mississippi Fred and too many more to mention.
My drummer and I started this two piece in my small basement bedroom, going for it and we've been going for it ever since. Hunting down our heroes in Mississippi, T-model,Burnsides and Kimbroughs. This has been one hell of a ride and it just keeps goin.
Hear what we're layin down.
It's part ours, parts of others, and parts of no ones. We're here to serve it up, with love and respect to our mentors and friends, and with respect to our drive to give all that we have for the music that we believe in.
Review: 'Summer of Love Revue' let's the sun shine in again
By Pat Craig Contra Costa Times
"The tribute performers are simply astonishing in their abilities to not only summon the styles and personalities of the musicians they are impersonating but to create the same sort of electric excitement of the originals. David Lockhart's painfully excessive capturing of the booze-swilling and constantly concupiscent Jim Morrison is an encyclopedic homage to the ethos of rock. Boudeeka's haunting accurate portrayal of Janis Joplin is a tribute to women in rock (she also plays the Airplane's Grace Slick) and the raw emotion that was so much a part of the scene. Carlton Poward is an almost frightening replica with his spot-on Jimi Hendrix characterization and inspired guitar playing.
If you missed out on all the fun, don't worry, They will having an encore performance LIVE May 3rd at Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco www. bottomofthehill. com 8:30PM

Hey, I personally love rigged elections, being lied to by the government, and sending my fellow countrymen off to fight a winless, useless war. I also believe the Constitution is toilet paper and we have way more rights than we really need anyway. Fuck Free Speech!!!!! Please let me know that you disagree with me by playing this show, speaking at it, attending it, or contributing in any way to it:) It'll be a free show:) HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! Lemme know and please repost:) The more bands and speakers we get, the louder our voice will be.
