Get ready for a burst of energy with Sugarhigh, the three-piece band hailing from the New Jersey shore. The group’s energetic sound and oftentimes humorous lyrics will get you up out of your chair and onto the dance floor.
Sugarhigh is a fun punk band with lots of energy. The three members, bassist JT, drummer Tony (ex OS101) and guitarist Pete (ex Dodgeball) started the band in 2004 and since then have continued to fine-tune their punchy sound. Reminiscent of great punk bands like Less Than Jake, Alkaline Trio and Descendents, Sugarhigh enjoys experimenting, blending loud thrash sounds with melodic pop punk rhythms. The band’s lyrics are tongue and cheek, showcasing their comical personalities. However, they are no doubt relatable, touching on heartache, failure and success.
With a soft spot for the limelight, Sugarhigh has performed live throughout the New Jersey area, having played at the 2nd annual Angry Drunk BBQ among other local venues. The band even made it through the second round at the Emergenza music festival. They have had airplay on canadianmusicrocks.com and unsunghero.com and were a featured live performance on the Pat Duncan radio show on WFMU.
Sugarhigh has recorded one live E.P, The Lamp Hat and are currently working on their first full length album at Word Of Mouth studios and is to be released late spring 2008. They are planning a CD release party around the same time. ..
