In 2002, Suga Roy, then a talented Dj and producer, was so impressed with Conrad Crystal’s 1986 release, “True Love”, that he sought out the singer and requested that both of them record a remake of the hit single. The remake was a success and both found that they had a natural chemistry.
FIRST ALBUM "HIGHEST GRADE" STILL AVAILABLE
More combinations followed : a cover of the Pat Kelly original “Talk about love”, followed by a cover of Gregory Isaacs “Love overdue”. All three recordings enjoyed success on the local and international charts, as well as getting heavy rotation in the dancehalls and airwaves.
“Education wise” (“Hand cart boy” riddim) has held the number one spot on the mega Jamz chart for three weeks, while “Love overdue” peaked at number four on the RJR chart. Also in good rotation on the radios is “Mek dem a gwaan suh” on Stone Love’s Real Rock rythm.
EDUCATION WISE
A double video featuring “Man can’t walk in peace” and “Tired a it” was recently released, after “Education wise” video got heavy rotations on the music video channels.

By the end of 2006 came out their brand new hit “Trace” on Taxi riddim by Sly & Robbie. With Buju Banton’s number one tune “Driver”, Suga Roy & Conrad Crystal’s is one of the most played songs on Irie Fm.

Titled “Highest Grade” this new album feature 19 heavy tracks produced by Suga Roy himself (Fire Ball label) and also Sly & Robbie (Taxi), Digial B, Fire House and more...artist like Richie Spice, Anthony B, Lee “Scratch” Perry, Yellowman and Luciano appear on combinations with the duo giving new flavours to this future classic album.
To promote this album Suga Roy & Conrad Crsytal went on a European Tour in march and april 2007 meeting their audience averseas.
A real success for this talented duo who performed for reggae fans as well as a maintream audience on stage!!!
