Synopsis
Why I Committed Suicide starts as a casually rambling journey infused with an explosive surge of blossoming love. Written stylishly in the mode of 'On The Road' meets 'Basketball Diaries' with a little more fun, pain and real life. Have you ever felt a love so powerful that it could snap you in half like a twig? Have you ever hurt so much that you would attempt to remove yourself from existence?
The hipsters have left MySPace for pastures not monitored & censored by the dark overloards. But YOU are smarter than the people around you. YOU are sticking with myspace and not visiting my website (www.WhyICommittedSuicide.com) or jumping over to Facebook and setting up an account. Your friends don’t understand what's happening. Your parents can't even come close to comprehending how you feel. Maybe you secretly understand or worry about your own suicidal thoughts. Maybe you want to know more without raising red flags. Maybe you don’t give a fuck anymore. Some people want to know how close they are to the edge and some of you already know you are there.
This novel is for the ones that get it. The people who have experienced (or want to experience) the nitty-gritty of life. The motherfuckers who can relate to the chaos and aftermath of extreme experiences. Why I Committed Suicide is real. It's intense. It's the stuff even your best friend won't tell you from their past. You won't be able to put it down until you've taken in the content of each and every crazy page.
About the Author
I am not a gourmet chef. Truth is, I barely get by in the food department. If you came here for food tips, you are on the wrong internet. AOL has a free disc in the mail for you. I can be an asshole but I'm usually not. Here we are we are! Bonding already! Isn't that great?! I've been on MySpace a long time now. Why I Committed Suicide was the first book to ever be listed on this site and it's been featured in several articles about MySpace, usually when the author wants to phone in a piece that illustrates how this website is destroying the moral fabric of America. I've also met some amazing and talented people through networking on MySpace. It's rare, but sometimes I still send out friend requests if I really think you are a cool person or someone I could identify with and possibly talk to. Sometimes I am wrong. Sometimes I just think you posted some great artwork, poetry or just had your profile arranged in a pleasing manner. Sometimes one of your friends is really cool and said you were too. Or maybe you wrote a blog that captured how I felt at a particular moment and that glimmer into your life was something special and I wanted to share a part of that. Or maybe you just drive fucking monster trucks! Who the fuck cares? You probably already know you are awesome...
Ok, ok let's start over.
Hi my name is Sam.
I recently self-published a book called Why I Committed Suicide. It's a memoir actually and it's all true. No book-of-the-month-bullshit. This book will knock your pants off because it's ALL REAL. You can buy WHY I COMMITTED SUICIDE in a lot of bookstores, especially Barnes & Noble. If it's out just ASK them to order it for you at the counter. It's no big deal.
It's FREE from my publisher; kind of a 'read before you buy' deal and it's enough to see if the book is your flavor. I AM on here to network with new friends and talk about my novel but you are still an important person and a valuable individual. So if you write me, I'll always try and write back.
Everyone I've ever read has influenced my writing in some way and I read a LOT. Some great authors off the top of my head include - Anne Rice, Hunter S. Thompson, Stephen King, Charles Bukowski, Hermann Hesse, Albert Camus, Franz Kafka, Jack Kerouac, William S. Burroughs, JD Salinger, Allen Ginsburg, Aldous Huxley, Jean-Paul Sartre, Friedrich Nietzsche, Anthony Burgess, David Sedaris, David Foster Wallace, Fyodor Doystoevsky, Abbie Hoffman, Ayn Rand, Chuck Palahniuk, Ken Kesey, Vladimir Mayakovsky, Leo Tolstoy and James Joyce - they have all influenced my writing at some point and if you read all of this I think you will like my book too!

Hey, thanks for becoming part of my "friend" space! I'm looking to get more plugged in with creatives worldwide through this social network.
I'm glad you shortened the title and, also, glad a publisher didn't make you change it entirely. "Why I Committed Suicide" is one of the most intriguing book titles I've ever seen!
My Xeric grant winning book "Jazz: Cool Birth" is now in September's Previews for preorder at comic shops, a murder mystery in a 1957 jazz bar, with art and type based on '50s album cover design, dig? Bebop for your glims.
I'm looking forward to exploring the MySpace pages of all of my new "friends" (Man, does that sound square).

Thanks so much for your help if you were one of the friends who voted for me. Boy A, my first novel, has now made the short list of 10 for World Book Day’s ‘Book To Talk About 2008.’ I owe so much to my friends.
Unfortunately all the novels starts the final from scratch, so I really need your support all over again.
Please take a minute to vote. It might well be possible to win it now.
And you can still win stuff just by voting, as well as being kind and thus improving your karma ;-)
