The details of how Suicide Jack came to be are sordid enough to be fodder for one of their own whiskey-soaked, heart-wrenching ballads. Founding member and original pianist Robert Lee Mitchell was acquainted with a stripper who went by the stage name Nadine. She was looking for someone to record a sultry version of the Chuck Berry song Nadine for her routine. As fate would have it, vocalist/drummer C.T. had just moved to Seattle from San Francisco and Mitchell asked he and bassist Dark Marc Brown to record the track with him ( it can be heard on the Suicide Jack debut, In Churches & Saloons). The three went on to co-write two albums worth of low-down, hard-luck songs melding rhythm & blues, country-soul, rock, and honky-tonk.
Suicide Jacks current lineup ranges in size from 4 players (C.T.s Skeleton Crew) to 9 players and reads like a "who's who" of great Seattle musicians, including founding member C.T. (lead vocals, drums), Ron Weinstein (Hammond B3 organ), Dave Keenan (guitar), Keith Lowe or Jeremy Lightfoot (bass), Mike Stone (drums), Micah Hulscher (piano), Seattle sax stalwarts like Craig Flory, Skerik (who handles sax duties on both albums), and Hans Teuber, guest trumpeters like Casey McGill and Billy Joe Huels, and percussionist Bryan Cook.
.. Hi there Suicide Jack first of all we'd like to say thanks for being our myspace pal. We wanted to make sure you knew the reason incase we suddenly vanish off of your friends list. The movement we've started for indie artists has grown significantly and consumes all of our time these days. We seldom sign into our myspace account and this is making several people believe that we are ignoring them. We are not ignoring anyone, we wanted everyone to know that. What we're doing has become so busy we just don't have the time for myspace any longer, so in all honesty we are probably going to just close our myspace account.
Many people wanted to use us in the future so if you were one of those people you can click the link below to visit our profile which wlil provide you with more information and also give you the link to our website! I wish you the best of luck in your music career. Thanks again for being our myspace pal.

Good morning!!! afternoon actually.... So I'm sitting here, no joke, dressed as a wood nymph for work today. This morning I had a tiger, Wonder Woman, a devil, a kitty kat, a pirate, and a duck at story hour.
My new group, Micah Hulscher and Keys to the Country, will be debuting at the Pampas Room on Sat, May 12th. It features my original instrumental compositions, which are based in Jazz with a strong focus on Americana, along with some familiar American standards. The lineup is myself on Piano, Geoff Harper on upright bass, John Terpin on trombone, and the venerable C.T. on drums. We'll be there every Saturday from 8-12:30 and there's no cover. The Pampas room is located underneath El Gaucho on 1st and Wall in Belltown
