Suit & Tie Guy's Interests
|
| General | delay, repetition and hazard.
music, synthesisers, being a rockstar, being a lounge musician, being Suit & Tie Guy. | | Music | I like music that kicks ass ... like prog rock, acid jazz, and ambient music. i can't stand the strokes, blink 182, or christian hardcore.
If you think The Beloved is a christian hardcore band and not a British synthpop duo who wrote a song called "Deliver me" which was then covered by Sarah Brightman and then the cover was covered by cultural christian rocker David Crowder then please go away.
of course, if you're open to debating the relative merits of Jon Marsh's original versus David Crowder's appropriation and adjustment of the lyrics by all means feel free to stick around.
by the way, if you think The Faint or The Postal Service are "really good synthpop" but don't own any Everything But The Girl or Pet Shop Boys records then you might want to think about rebalancing your iPod. | | Movies | my favourite movies are Incubus, Blade Runner, and Secretary.
this does not necessarily mean i'm into speaking Esperanto, hot human-on-replicant action, or spanking you ... but hey if you're into that stuff that's cool. | | Television | Doctor Who, the Prisoner, Night Gallery, The A-Team, and Dragnet. also short-lived late 70s/early 80s SF programmes. if you don't know what SF means, or don't like the way I spelled "programme", please don't bother to add me as a friend. | | Books | remaindered coffee table books, Time Life coffee table books (WWII, the Maritime series, and The Old West in particular), music equipment manuals, music production magazines (Sound-On-Sound, Tape Op, Synapse, etc), and Doctor Who novels. | | Heroes | Robert Fripp, Groove Holmes, and Klaus Schulze. I think Vin Diesel kicks ass too ... but I don't know if i'd call him a "hero". on second thought, yeah ... Vin Diesel is a personal hero of mine. |
