In the world of music not all bands are just fashionable and commercial. There are also artists who, unaware of the latest trends, just follow the way their own heart tells them, without taking so much into account the commercial result of their songs. These are thoroughbred musicians who have entire faith in their own creations and who devote themselves in body and soul every time they get into a studio. If you dont believe it, then ask to 91 Suite, a band who made its own place in the musics industry without giving up their musical beliefs nor yielding in front of the dictatorship of the top 20.
In fact, this band from Murcia has always done what they wanted and the way they wanted it. Their passion is AOR (Adult Oriented Rock), that is, the lifelong melodic rock that bands like Europe, Poison or Def Leppard popularised along the eighties. The members of 91 Suite are devout of this sound, and though in Spain they are not as well known as they deserve yet, countries like Japan or England have recognized their value by receiving enthusiastically their dbuts LP 91 Suite (mixed in New York by Mark Mangold, famous piano player and producer who has cooperated with outstanding artists such as Cher and Michael Bolton).
In Japan they even proclaimed them the new Bon Jovi a real achievement for a Spanish band.
However, nobody should think that Paco (guitar), Jess (voice), Dani (keyboards), Ivn (guitar), Mario (drums) and Antonio (bass) are nostalgics. This band from Murcia knows how to captivate the essence of the AOR music and how to make it contemporary without pyrotechnic shows, back-combed hairs, nor flashy clothes.
91 Suite always knew how to adapt to the present without loosing the AOR touch that always characterised them. Melody is still the key factor in a rock machine without any secret on stage.
Thats why live concerts are certainly one of the strongest points of our band from Murcia.
Given the obvious quality of this quintet, Vicious Seal their recording company in Barcelona never hesitated in signing them up without imposing them any rule.
91 Suite will go on singing in English, as they always did, and will carry on with their unique sound. The proof of it is their second LP, Times They Change, the expected dbut with Vicious. In this record we will enjoy 91 Suite in their full maturity : a band capable of creating imperishable ballads, guitar hits of first magnitude and melodies of real quality.
Do not wait for anybody to tell you about it, and get prepared for the return of AOR in this year 2005 that seems designed for the triumph of these fellows from Murcia.
