The T.U.R.N. project (The Underground Railroad Neighborhood project), a group of mentors/students, was founded in 2004 as a response to the immediate need for children of an underprivileged community to find an alternative to destructive behaviors as well as to establish a forum for young artists (musicians, vocalists, poets, and visual artists) to explore their own creative energy while showcasing their talent. T.U.R.N. has created a way to bring the arts to the people through various workshops, visits to correctional facilities and juvenile centers, and a weekly hip-hop after school program.
