The SullivanMunce Cultural Center features a wide range of exhibits, events and programs designed for anyone interested in celebrating the culture of a historic town where the past is preserved and the future is embraced. We invite you to make the SullivanMunce your destination for art, history, and genealogy.
There are a variety of opportunities to volunteer for the museum, library or art center. Assistance is needed in greeting visitors, answering the phone, selling tickets or gift items, mailings, installing exhibits, documentation of the collections, event planning, marketing events, data entry, class scheduling and more. The two support groups that provide further volunteer and financial assistance for each facility are the P.H. Sullivan Museum Guild and pARTnerz.
The P.H. Sullivan Museum Guild provides daily volunteer help for the museum and library as well as sponsoring several events and fundraisers throughout the year. Popular fundraisers such as "Antiques at the Sullivan" and the "Gardens of Zionsville" garden tour provide critical funding for other guild sponsored events such as "Gingerbread Houses on Parade" as well as educational programming and improvements to the museum and library.
If you are interested in learning more about the Guild's opportunities, contact the museum at 317.873.4900 or email janetbaker@sullivanmunce.org.
pARTnerz is the volunteer organization that supports the Munce Art Center by assisting with exhibit receptions and other art happenings throughout the year. Members receive notices of art openings and exhibits as well as participate in art related events such as private artist receptions and bus trips to other galleries and museums. Its annual art auction fundraiser in the spring provides critical funding for the art center to upgrade its facility and expand its programming.
If you are interested in learning more about pARTnerz volunteer opportunities call 317.873.6862 or email cynthiayoung@sullivanmunce.org.

Emma and Addison’s World:
Their Childhood Stories of 19th Century Zionsville
Ogborn Gallery
Since the fall of 2006, the main gallery of the SullivanMunce was transformed into several vignettes featuring the town of Zionsville from the mid- to late-1800’s, as seen through the eyes of Emma Higgins and her little brother, Addison. Included in this exhibit will be floor-to-ceiling photo vignettes depicting four areas around which the Higgins’ childhood revolved: their home, their school, the railroad depot, and the businesses along Zionsville’s main street. Made possible through the generosity of our title sponsor, the Sullivan Museum Guild, as well as other corporate and individual funding sources, this exhibit provides a backdrop for several years of educational programming and special events. It’s an exhibit about families ... for families ... NOW THROUGH SUMMER 2009
