As you probably already gathered I go by Sully.. I've always had a love for music all the way back to when I was in pampers shakin my baby groove thang. I started playing guitar at around 8 or 9 years old, learning the basic cords from my dad. Shortly after that I past my dad right on up, but he blows me away on piano. Anyway, I started writing my own songs when I was 11 years old. I played for the most part by ear figuring out other peoples songs that I had admired. I think I took 2 actual lessons. By the time I was 13 I started to enter myself in talent shows locally. The first one I did at the teen center, and i played "Wonderful Tonight" by: Eric Clapton. (I happend to win $100 which was huge at 13). Into Highschool I kept on playing but didn't get a band together at first. Then when I was 16 I met Shon Yoshita ( YOSH), in my junior year. We went on to write many songs together, which to this day I still play some of them. We had our first CD made in 1998 in Mt. Vernon, IL, it was so much fun to get recorded. I remember thinking that the CD was all we needed to make it. An easilly made mistake by an 18 year old musician. Yet I went as far as quiting my day job.(not smart) From then on SULLY N YOSH were in effect. In March of 1999 we were some how selected for battle of the bands on the Jenny Jones show. It blew us away because we didn't even send them anything. We went on to win the battle of the bands on that show, and once again I thought it to be our big break. WRONG AGAIN. In 2000 sully n yosh got signed with a small local record company. We made a CD with them, then shortly after had a falling out. Yosh has since moved to dallas where he continues his own music creations. We would like very much though to reunite. For now though I just keep on doing the original songs myself, and try to continue writing what feels good to me. Now a days I'm trying to play as much as possible, in fact I'm again quiting my day job to focus more on music and living in general. At 26 going on 27 I figure now is as good a time as any right!!!
