   About The Summerlad
Since 1999 the three-piece Calgary band has been honing their ability to merge pounding rhythms and driving guitars with full-on psychedelic freak-outs and atmospheric exploration. Last year they released City of Noise, an album-length single track that tells the story of a day in the life of a city, complete with dance party, drones and a waltz. Currently they are putting the polish on their fourth album.

The band's sound finds its focus around the voice of Garrett McClure, formerly of Geffen artists The Primrods. The Summerlad have shared the stage with Xiu Xiu, Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Constantines, Enon, and The Besnard Lakes throughout the course of extensive tours of North America. They have played festivals with the likes of The Flaming Lips, Yo La Tengo and Mogwai. Sept. 2008 will see them take their first trip to the UK.

"A sonic kaleidoscope of arcing, yearning guitar sounds, vocal harmonies and stop/start dynamics of broad, almost cinematic scope. Yes, these songs can be challenging at times, but they’re also well worth the listen." - Uptown magazine

"The Summerlad's City of Noise is an architectural marvel" - Vue magazine

Hey guys,
Sorry we didn't connect during Virgin Fest. You know that chicken/head thing? I was hoping to make up for it by getting an interview with you at the Snatch event. Congratulations on that by the way! Shout back anytime and take care,
