Summer Music Programs was founded in 1993 in order to give young musicians an opportunity to meet and play with other musicians. We encourage them to play the songs they want to play. A member of our staff works full time with each band (sometimes composed of musicians who have never met before) to choose songs, rehearse them and prepare for their recording session as well as the weekly concert. Each musician receives an audio CD of their studio session -- a first for many kids. Instrument and equipment rentals can be arranged.
Summer Music Programs is located on the beautiful and historic Harcum College campus in Bryn Mawr, PA, just minutes outside of Philadelphia. Rehearsals are held on campus in air conditioned dorm rooms and recording sessions at state of the art, award winning studios. Concerts are held on Friday afternoons (Day Program) and Friday evenings (Overnight Program). Meals are served in the college cafeteria. Please visit our website for more information, and don't hesitate to contact us via MySpace, email or by simply calling (610) 526-6114. We would love to hear from you!
I saw Lucy at the Phillies parade wearing an Indian Headress, didn't the Phillies discover America? Or did the Indians discover Philadelphia? I guess that would be Cleveland. Wow, what a week, Philles win the world series. I wrote a Phillies fight song. Wanna hear it?
