i completely misunderstood the summer of love in 1967 .. i got married on 3-sep-67 at age 21, by three days .. the marriage lasted 13 years and produced 3 great kids, but i could never quite reconcile my personal beliefs and actions with the peace movement during the Vietnam war .. pressures and expectations of being a husband and parent seemed to always influence my choices and my ability to take meaningful action as a war protester

thanks for giving us an unmistakeable reason to remember the effectiveness of protesting against an immoral war and a corrupt executive branch .. we stopped Vietnam by marching and standing up to power in both the Johnson and Nixon administrations .. now we have an even more dangerous administration exercising power even more irresponsibly in even more dangerous times .. it is time we all took a moment to ask "What can I do for my country?"

the answer is really quite simple .. it's time to stand up, take a stand, and take a walk

so long as our flag so proudly waves, "We the people" must remain ever vigilent in protecting freedom and democracy here in these United States of America .. sometimes the truest patriot is the one who stands and simply yet profoundly says *NO* to power .. few things are closer to the founding fathers purest spirit and intent

thank you, again, Cindy for reminding us all of that

also, Happy Birthday next week, Cindy .. hope to see you as you're passing through on "The Walk" right here in Liberty, Texas, where liberty and freedom still count!

Happy Birthday, Cindy! I'm so happy that you're doing this, though as a GPM alumnus I wish I could have found out sooner. I would have loved to be there, but I'm with you in spirit.

My prayers are with you and your companions. May you find the generosity you need during this effort. Every time you work for peace, it gives me and others hope for non-violent change.

Thank you so much for coming out of "retirement." We all need to recharge our batteries so we can do what our souls demand of us to make this world a better place.

All war is wrong unless you are invaded.
Hendrix(a Mohawk) said:
"If my warriors are to fight, they are to few; if they are to die they are to many."

We have lost to many due to the judgments of cowards. Keep up the fight.
