top weekend had a great time...shame bout the chemical brothers..does Anybody know the site for the pictures taken by the camramen around the tents there is a actual site...
heyy, saturday rocked! was awesome, but then sunday came and it was fucking cold and wet, and not to mention my purse was stolen, seriously pissed off, some twat came in the tent and took of with my purse! and chem bros not playing was rubbish times!
other than that it was good, and up for it next year am i crazy? haha
Touch presents a brand new residency of pure, unrivalled house action. The first Saturday of every Month at Escucha, Nottingham. Join us for our free entry house warming this Saturday.
It all starts this Saturday 9 in the Basement at Escucha.
Well it's almost been a week since I got back and I've just about got all my marbles back so here goes..
Definitely a weekend of two halves- Saturday was damn near perfect from getting on the train at Newcastle at 0430 all excited to waiting for the bus at Banbury singing songs and then pitching up tents fairly quickly so we could get to the good stuff of drinking, dancing and taking little fellas. Does It Offend You Yeah? were immense, Digitalism was like a religious experience and The Prodigy tore up the main stage- they were far better than I thought they would be. Lovely weather, lovely state of fuckedness, up to about 5am on Sunday morning the festival was a surefire 10 out of 10.
Then the rain came. I'm not the sort of person to let a bit of bad weather spoil my fun but it was pretty grim out there- I had forgotten to take my wellies as well like a right tit so mud cancer was a go go. With the main stage being cancelled on the Sunday, it led to even more packed tents and I felt sorry for those who couldn't getin to see Dizzee Rascal. He was amazing but the times were so fucked up on that stage. I spent a lot of time taking refuge in my tent when I should've been tearing it up which was a shame. However Justice on the Sunday was one of the best things I've ever seen and for that hour it was like no mud existed I was that high!
£3 for water and £4.50 for beer- so steep it was fucking vertical in my opinion- just as well I had a tankful before I stepped onto the arena.
All in all an 8 out of 10- I'm so glad I was there for the full weekend and I felt sorry for those who just had day tickets for the Sunday- especially those who wanted to go and see the Chemical Brothers. I understand why they couldn't play but it's Britain all over isn't it? No plan B.
Hope you all enjoyed it- would I do it again? Fuck aye!
thanx 4 the add awsom being ur new friend, hope u liked my page & music!!! will u pretty plz with a cherry on top do me un favor?! spread da word to ur family & friends bout my page & music?! also keep n touch cuz i h8 strangers :p

AMAZING!!!! LOVED IT!!!! but here are my complaints... the main stage flooding was a bit of a joke! good job prodigy rocked it, so not tooooo upset about missin chemical bros. AND security was a total joke as well, far too many dealers to compete with! STILL A FANTASTIC WEEKEND LIKE, and me free tent was actually waterproof, and small and cosy i slept like a baby in there on me airbed, all the tents were class! even the music i'm not that into! all though metropolis was abit over crowded@times NICE ONE WELL DONE TO ALL INVOLVED! love
Shit weather...drink prices mutch expansives...BUT THE FESTIVAL WAS AMAZING AND THE MUSIC IN CRASHER ARENA WAS MEMORABLE!!! TNX AT ALL STAFF AND ORGANIZATION OF EVENT!!! WITH LOVE FROM ITALY!
Well GCSSS2008 what can i say got mixed views about the weekend.... cant believe someone died that was mad!!! saturday was an amazing day sun was shining music was fucking amazing but sunday kinda put a dampner on it, walking through mud, tent flooded and it was freezing and bands gettin cancelled what was that all about... and even though u were allowed to take ur own drink with u no1 told us tht u cudnt take ur own drink into the actual music tents and the prices of drinks wernt tht cheap.
All in all tho i would go back and do it all over again but this time brings a few more essentials with me...
// GATECRASHER - A MESSAGE FROM THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS
27-05-2008 // On Sunday night we were unable to play the Gatecrasher event due to extreme ... 27-05-2008 // On Sunday night we were unable to play the Gatecrasher event due to extreme weather which had made the stage dangerous. No other acts were able to perform on the stage all day due to these unforeseen conditions. Our crew arrived 24 hours ahead of the stage time and were fully prepared for the show to go ahead but it was mutually agreed by all parties involved that the stage was not safe due to the extreme weather conditions and particularly constant rain which was blowing onto the stage by the non-prevailing wind. Unfortunately we were unable to relocate to a tent due to crowd safety concerns.
We regret letting down the people that had come to see us. In 14 years of playing live shows we have never been in a position where it has been impossible to play a show due to weather.
I had a top weekend, Freq Nasty was quality. bought one bottle of water an filled it up at water points, money well saved. seen every1 i wanted to see,so i was happy, weather was abit shit, but i was expecting it anyway
Just like to say that in most part I had a great weekend, the weather didnt dampen our spirits too much.
However the Chemical Brothers not playing is an absolute joke, we endured all that shit weather and slept in it yat they cant get their fuckin asses wet for 2 hours, its a joke, I bet you arnt offering us a part refund, Ive lost all respoec for the band.
Saturday was cracking a bit windy but apart from that it was all good. Prodigy & Paul Van Dyk were amazing. it was all a bit smaller than 2000 & 2001 though
Sadly this weekend did not turn out to be what I expected. I only went on the Sunday. Firstly why wouldn't you let day ticket holders return to their car?? We needed to change our clothes, etc, but we couldn't! You can't expect people to carry a massive bag around with them for 16 and a half hours?? It wouldn't have been too bad if you had supplied lockers. I couldn't believe that you were selling WATER at £3! How ridiculous! IT IS WATER?! Pure greed Gatecrasher. In my mind there were not enough toilets for the amount of people. The basic things need to be sorted for next time Gatecrasher.
impossible to stay on sunday, mud, rain, wind, this is not summer, did anybody think about it?? during the night between sat and sun a few times people tried to break into my tent, and i don't think they were just high and confused since drugs were pretty lame there. and alcohol was so expensive that only rich people could have got drunk, and they don't need to steal from thents... it was impossible to even rest with all that wind and rain. I was bloody freezing and in the morning everything i had with me was soaking wet, cigarettes, phone, wallet, all my clothes, shoes... everything. I had to leave the place and i was pretty pissed off... also having to choose between digitalism, busy p and css because they all plaid at the same time wasn't the best... let's face it, it wasn't as good as we all expected. It was mostly because of the weather, but still.. no fun at all... shame...
I cannot believe how rubbish this weekend turned out to be! I mean, shutting the main stage cuz of flooding - was there no plan in place in case of rain (this is England afterall)? Aside from the Cement tent shutting down, the set times were wrong on the rip-off programmes so we missed RatPack too. And as if we cudn't go into Dizzy Rascal bcuz it was too full - this is a festival with a planned 60,000 people so surely this should have been planned for? This really was a JOKE!
