Summit Dub Squad mixes and mashes Reggae, Hip Hop, Funk, Punk and Folk into a danceable and very listenable genre they classify as High Elevation Sound Flavor. What started as an evolution of the Flagstaff-based hip hop phenomenon GreenHouse Fresh Produce, Summit Dub Squad has now evolved into a full fledged stage band. DJ Soe and B Dub (of GreenHouse Fresh Produce) originally combined their beats, guitar licks and lyrics with the dubtronic basslines of Dub Doctor Paul to start a new sound. A very first show opening up for the late Joseph Hill and world renowned roots reggae supergroup CULTURE released the energies of the SDS unto the world. That was just Soe on the beat machine and turntables, B Dub rapping, singing and playing guitar and Paul laying the lowend (Greenhouse rapper AREK also joined in for the show); and the response was immediate. Now the SDS crew has added Ben the Machine on a real drums for a fuller feel and bangin' ass beats; Hunter Redday on riddim guitar, percussions and vocals, and sista Onion Grass on the viola. Together the posse has a sound unmatched by any, and an energy that vibes with all.
Feeling energized from the raw foods stuck to my insides/I never knew a pie could taste so good and be alive/I spread my vibes worldwide on a quest to reunite with my tribe/Greenhouse redefines the meaning of the word "live"/I freestyle to see smiles get all caught up in the moment/Spontaneous combustion when I'm busting over some of DJ Soe's dopeness/Obama's coming to give hope to the hopeless/It's 2009 fool in case you didn't notice/We got a black president, shit's real and not just a joke now/A new day's dawning you better change more than your profile/A lot of rappers have NO style/So we keep the produce fresh and leave fo's flat like tile/Get buck wild, rhymes stay stacked up in piles/Verses stretched out for miles...
rockin uncle b's beats when we creep 7 deep/Stay awake half baked cause death's the cousin of sleep Sew what I reap, eat what I am, jam rock like Damian Evil lurks everywhere from Satan to Damien/I play dub sparking buds with my buds yes 1 love/When push comes to shove Jah sends help from above/
big up to my peeps making beats up on summit/Giving the fans food for thought to digest deep in the stomach/
Raw foods fresh for you enzymes heal you from the inside/Let my pen slide and ride the beat like a riptide/Been a minute since I dropped by and spit some hot lines to make you break like stop signs/No way that you can stop mines, I stay on point precisely on time like when a clock chimes/Who else you know that rocks rhymes as dope as mine???/Greenhouse still represents for all the heads that listen closely/We do hip hop how it's supposed to be religious like a rosary/Understand they want to Over"SEE" Officers watching over me/I gotta run, but peace goes out to all my peeps on the streets sweeping/Struggling to live the dream and still freak beats on the weekends/
