Dale Wilkes plays banjo and sings lead vocals. Like most banjo players, he is in awe of Earl Scruggs. BUT, to not mention Don Reno would be unthinkable. Dale brings a hard-drivin' banjo to the group with the ability to play bass and guitar when needed.
Mike Gerling is the guitar player and sings lead vocals. Coming from Country roots, he soon became a traditionalist like the rest of us.. Although we still indulge a country song or two.
Vicki Hutson was drafted to play bass for Summit Grass in 2006. She also does a great job of singing lead and harmony vocals. With no prior string experience, she proved to be more than equal the task of becoming the beauty, brains and heart of Summit Grass.
Ed Hutson plays mandolin and sings lead and harmony vocals. As the elder statesman, he brings dimension to the group with his high lonesome lead vocals and tenor harmonies and can step up to the bass or guitar when asked.

Summit Grass first came into existence in early 2005 during gospel jam sessions at a local church. One thing led to another and before you know it we were playing for family reunions, churches and community events.
We have been going strong for the past two years and have just completed our first CD. We all enjoy traditional bluegrass, so our first CD will include songs we listened to when we were kids.
Summit Grass my dearest: Your bluegrass is delightful to my ears. All the musicians are talented and are qualified to play and enliven any slow-going party. The vocals are tuneful. It must be an unforgettable experience to see you play alive. I think my provincial music has a lot to do with yours, as both seem to stem from Irish and British musical roots. If you feel like hearing out my repertoire please do so and after evaluating it, send me your possible comments. Please, accept a strong musical embrace from your Brazilian admirer,
Thanks so much for your kind comments. We are so glad you like what you hear. Hope you can hear us sometime on stage. Remember, If It Weren't For Bluegrass Music, I'd Go Crazy.
