SUMO’s first monthly party was back in 2003 and we’ve never looked back. Promoters Chico Fresco and West One have brought heavyweight guests from the world of breaks and beyond to kick up a storm at the award-winning ClwbIforBach since that memorable night...
Our second birthday party at Cardiff SU’s Great Hall was the largest breaks event South Wales has seen, "Crowning SUMO’s meteoric and thoroughly deserved rise to the big time" [DJ Mag, Dec 05]. They also said it was "Tasty". They should’ve seen the third and fourth birthdays - Sumo’s put on a few stone since then!
SUMO’s increasing notoriety lead to a nomination for Best Club Night at the 2004 Welsh Music Awards, a place in the top 8 breaks nights in the world at Breakspoll 2006 followed and in the 2007 awards Sumo was nominated for the Best Small Club award... But balls to the silverware as long as the parties carry on being dirty rotten fun.
Previous guests include: Dylan Rhymes, Stanton Warriors, Hybrid, Plump DJs, Koma & Bones, Vandal, BLIM, Atomic Hooligan, Krafty Kuts, D Ramirez, Meat Katie, Aquasky v Masterblaster, DJ Yoda, Soul of Man, Elite Force, Jean Jacques Smoothie, Hyper, Phantom Beats, Drumattic Twins, Rennie Pilgrem, Autobots, Robosapiens, Kosheen... the list gets longer.
Room 2 comes courtesy of dirty house afficionados ZeroZero with their trusty residents and the best in local talent.
Our events fall on the second Friday of every month and we’re armed with a green lazer and some seriously heavy beats. Get ready to rumble!

Here we have the return of Digital Base to iBreaks.
This release has been played for quite a while receiving some amazing feedback from every artist who’s been supplied with the track.
The Climax, great summery track with the characteristic Digital Base vibe, full of intensity and melody. This track could easily fit from any dj playing in Ibiza to any breaks dj trying to get the girls shacking their body to the beats. A clear win win situation with The Climax and once again another great track under the iBreaks brand.
New World Order sees Digital Base in the remix duties, revamping one of the biggest track of all times in Dead Famous Records. The original track by Robosapiens has been reworked by mr Base injecting it with tons of groove good feel and squeezing the massive Stephen Hawking vocals… This is the New World Order!!!!

BadboE is back on BBP with another fresh and funky EP, as the first of a series of nu-funk releases to come in 2009. This time he has teamed up with some of the biggest talents in the nu-funk scene: Quincy Jointz, Funkanomics and Mash and Munkee: and the result is 5 state of the art funk bombs for the dancefloors. Following BadboE's successful Good Groove Recordings 12" - the funky b-boy joints and groovy uptempo funk jams continues on this release. C. Funkanomics speeds up things with his progressive tech-funk remix of What you Wanna Do. The heavy bassline and funky grooves makes this a great alternative to the other mixes. Funkanomics is signed on Cut La Roc's label - Rocstar Recordings.

We at Dead Famous have a wonderful opportunity for everyone. In the coming months, we will be releasing a Remix EP, where some of our favorite artists around have picked their favorite Dead Famous release, and are turning out killer 2009 remixes of them. To coincide with that release, we will be hosting a remix contest for DHD's seminal slab of techfunkery, "Scene". Entries are not limited to breaks, in fact we encourage remixers from all musical styles to enter. Everyone is eligible unless you specifically work for Dead Famous.
To enter, all you have to do is download the parts from this message. Send all completed entries in either 320 kbps mp3 or Wav format to brokenbeatnik@yahoo.com. The deadline for entries is May 1st, 2009. We will then take a few days to listen to all the entries, and announce the lucky winners on May 11th, on www. nuskoolbreaks. co. uk.
