Hailing from various parts of Southern California, Sumo is Antimo Gonzales, James Boyle, and brothers Brian and Scott Kiepler. Over the past year they have been collaborating on a myriad of songs that they plan to release on a full length album early next year. Timo, who was in Well Strung to Hang, a San Diego based band, recorded an album with Drive Like Jehu's Mark Trombino and also shared the stage with the likes of X and Blink 182, got together with the Kiepler brothers early this year to form what is now called SUMO. The three of them have recruited friend James Boyle to sit in on drums. Currently, they are writing, recording and preparing for upcoming live performances.

hey Scott, thanks for hooking it up at the Hollywood Bowl, it was bad ass to finally see stone temple pilots live, and especially when you get us in backstage. You think you could get us backstage at Radiohead? When are you finishing the new songs?
I think SUMO should do a Cemetery Movie this Saturday night. The Man Who Knew Too Much is showing. It's gonna be a Party! I'll be in line if you decide to show up... Just give me a ring!
