Adam began playing with BORBETOMAGUS at age 18 in 1984. He appeared on LIVE IN ALLENTOWN(RECENTLY REISSUED), 7 REASONS FOR TEARS,and FISH THY SPARKLING BUBBLE He joined MISSING FOUNDATION IN 1987 appearing on various recordings, he was in MOTHERHEAD BUG with DAVID OUIMET, he joined the west coast band CRASH WORSHIP in 1996-97. Since 2005, Nodelman has been a core member of SUNBURNED HAND OF THE MAN & FRANKLIN'S MINT and appears on ton's of each band's recent recordings and live shows. Adam has been a sometimes member of Bunny Brains in the past year, and In 2008, Adam became the front man of the pioneer valley assault band - SHITSWEAT.

I still remember the gig, East London, 2004, the tramping of plastic glass underfoot, the whispering of the truly scary mad bloke on my right, quietly cursing the band, and out of the speakers, a sound like asthma, bees packed in the chest and ghostly voices that bore no resemblance to the act on stage, this shifting crew of eight, maybe twelve, hairy and bald types named Critter, Chad, Cousin Rich, Phil, Reverend John, and other things, all in a circle, beat out chain-gang rhythms, led by the pulsing bass of aged schoolboy scholar Rob Thomas. Formed in Massachusetts in 1997 from such defunct outfits as Franklin's Mint, Fisherman's Faggot, Shit Yourself, Faxed Head and Ghetto Breakers, this band who debuted with an album called Shit-Spangled Banner, played abstract psychedelia with roots in Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, Cream, Funkadelic and Ash Ra Tempel, but made out in the dark woods by the demon children of John Fahey, abandoned in a car full of tapes. I remember the stage, the aftermath of some '68 hippie riot - protesters trapped in the dying control centre - and the groove lurching on and on, the band circling constantly, like a ragged drum and bugle corps born of American's two Sawyer families - Mark Twain's ragged-trousered truant leading Texas Chainsaw Massacre's pallid cannibal family up from the rusty iron depths of their stuckboard kill-pit and into the sun: blasts, chimes, clanks, screams, thunks and mental-institution shouting-in-the-dark; a terrifying mystic broadcast on the King Biscuit Flour Hour. At the end of the gig I met two girls who told me it was the worst band they'd ever seen. And they were laughing, hard. But, you know, in a good way. I listened to a bunch of their CDs afterwards but this was the only one that ever came close.

HISTORY:
In 1994, Robert Thomas, Rich Pontius and John Moloney along with sometimes member Don Harney formed the Shit Spangled Banner which died out a year and a half later. In 1996, Sunburned Hand of the Man started as a four-piece group by John Moloney, Robert Thomas, Chad Cooper and Rich Thomas. They played social music and informal music, unshaped, unstructured, but completely determined by modern culture, the cultural after-effects of World War II, and our socio-religious backgrounds. The bandspent an equal amount of time, if not more, making films with Rich behind the camera's eye. These were unscripted, absurd interpretations based on surreal urban dialogue and scenery. The name of the band was born from one of Rob's film monologues. From then up until May 2006 Sunburned has been based at their Charlestown, Massachusetts loft. The building served as a meeting place for open ideas and open music. Shortly after the band's inception, more people joined the group giving what time they could. Everything got recorded, everything. Sunburned has been passed the torch of tradition through exploration and expression and have shared the stage with great artists such as Sonic Youth, John Fahey, Sun City Girls, Michael Hurley, Michael Chapman, Julian Cope, Dinosaur Jr., and Mission of Burma,No Neck Blues Band, Vibracathedral Orchestra, MV-EE, Six Organs of Admittance, Charalambides, Double Leopards, Wolf Eyes, Hair Police, Comets on Fire, Chris Corsano, Paul Flaherty, Dredd Foole, Joshua, Jackie O' Motherfucker, Acid Mother's Temple, Jack Rose, Sunn O))), Sunroof!, Magik Markers, Hush Arbors, Wooden Wand, Ashtray Navigations, Burnt Hills, Birds of Delay, Mats Gufstason, Circle, Jan Andersen, Skaters, and Four Tet. Sunburned has been putting out a regular stream of recordings mostly on their own, in-house labels - Manhand / Blueberry Honey / Magnatic Expansion / Hexit Records. From time to time, Sunburned has teamed up with like-minded labels to release records such as Smalltown Supersound, Three Lobed Recordings, Lost Treasures of the Underworld, and Thurston Moore..s Ecstatic Peace. Sunburned, as an 'entity', is an artist and its medium is recorded music and to a lesser degree, film. Sunburned records are like paintings of sound, mostly hand-packaged and sometimes limited to the interest that particular 'piece' would demand. In 2005/2006 Sunburned members branched out, -- John Moloney joining Six Organs of Admittance's touring band and recording and touring with Howlin Rain. Paul Labrecque and Valerie Webb releasing an LP for Eclipse, Athyr Myth'd (Ron Schneiderman, Paul Labrecque and Joshua Burkett) toured the Benelux. The Michael Flower Band with Sunburned members John Moloney and Chris Corsano (also known for his work with Bjork, both live and on her new album) hit the stage, and United Light was formed with John Moloney, Mick Flower from VCO, and Jackie O'Motherfucker's Tom Greenwood. Also in 2006 Taylor Richardson, Hush Arbor's Keith Wood, and VCO's Michael Flower and Bridget Hayden joined the group and toured extensively through the US, Canada and Europe. More recently, Taylor formed Infinity Window with Dan from Astronaut, Paul Labrecque has become Head of Wantastiquet, and Ron Schneiderman has become Pewtr and Marc Orleans mans the pedal steel with D Charles Speer among others... Sunburned also teamed up with poet, filmmaker, and photographer Ira Cohen for the recording of an alternate soundtrack to Cohen's psychedelic film masterpiece, "The Invasion of Thunderbolt Pagoda" which was released on Arthur magazine's label. Led these days by Cambridge's visionary master John Brem, Sunburned is whomever you see on stage, whomever you think about when you listen to the band and the sound of that feeling you get that is closer to the bone and closest to the truth whether you want to believe in it or not, its that self-help group you need and ultimately its up to you, for you and with you

sunburned's second installment of its studio collaborations with producer / director fourtet (kieran hebden) behind the wheel. we think this one is a doozy! recorded in a live-in studio in souther vermont with justin pizzaferratto. initially it'll be a vinyl only edition of 1500 with a download card of the entire album, a two-sided 11x17 poster, insert, with screenprinted jackets by vg kids.

It was an evening of pure Sunburned magic with all the branches they brought from Michael Flowers garden to Krefeld. The branches are still here and the magic is kept. They managed to evolve a peace of steamy psychedelia, starting off as a woven carpet of Synth-Drones and stumbling into a guitar driven wild heavy-psych kraut session. Limited and handnumbered edition of 150 copies in silkscreened, handprinted digipacks. Unique artpieces from the Sunburned crew were used for the cover.
4th year for Palimpsest Festival held in the majestic All Saints Church (1863) presenting a day of far reaching global sounds and homeland musical miniatures.
