He has been studying music for about 8 years and works as a beatmaker, producer and songwriter, working with various singers. »TONIGHT« got us excited immediately with it‘s catchy melody and refrain. Beautiful clavinet sounds in the intro, handclaps galore and even strings and more synthesizer action give this tune a slightly 80s touch. Chicago singer DONALD McCOLLUM is back in fine form with his interpretation of the classic ballad »THIN LINE BETWEEN LOVE AND HATE« made famous in 1971 by New York group THE PERSUADERS. A favourite piece of music among the SUNDAE
SOUL staff, so we were delighted to hear DONALD‘s soulful and intense rendition. Pure commitment and another superb production of ROB HARDT, one of the original producers of McCollum‘s debut album and 12“ »U Don‘t Want My Love«. You should check his remix for COOL MILLION‘s »Naughty Girl« as well, he‘s doing nice stuff.
So here we go again: one for the dancers and one for the soul!

This is the
labels first 12“ by Nashville, Tennessee born singer Larry Gene London. He left the city (which is best known as the heart of country music of course, but has always been a home of soulful music as well) in the late 70s and came
to Germany. Larry, being a lifetime soul fan, worked in several musical projects since then. In the UK he collaborated with Heatwave keyboarder and songwriter/
producer Rod Temperton and sang and played in various soul bands over the years. After a musical pause, Larry went back to his roots in soul music after he had met German producer Thorsten Scheu aka Glance. Being a DJ as well, spinning soulful stuff from all ages, Thorsten Scheu produced records for several labels in Germany, UK and the US. They both connected very well together and decided to create a
couple of songs together which led to some soulful tunes, from uptempo house to slow groovers. »A Love Like That« was handed first to UK‘s top modern soul DJ Terry Jones for approval, who immediately decided to include it on his upcoming compilation »Village Soul Vol.2«
for Expansion Records. It has a certain 9ties, kinda Soul II Soul flavour attached to it and sure will please the dancers.
»We Will Find A Way« & »Don‘t Walk On By« on the b-side are more laid-back, the latter a beautiful slow jam about unrequited love.
