Sundafu, a native of Liberia, relocated to New Orleans, La. with his family as a child. His father, an avid jazz and classical music connoisseur, first introduced him to pop music during his adolescence years. His passion and love for music quickly followed. Inspired by the Motown 25th Anniversary Television Special, Sundafu decided at a young age to make music a career.
At the age of 18, Sundafu headed cross-country to Hollywood, Calif. and success came quickly for the young singer and songwriter. In 1999, Red Ant Records’ R&B standout Aaron Skyy instantly took notice featuring Sundafu’s song “Why?” on his album “Skyy’s The Limit.” As Sundafu spent time co-producing this album, he realized his deepest passion was producing records.
In 2000, Sundafu continued his accomplished career working alongside the world-renowned R&B and pop singer, songwriter and record producer Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds. For the next four years, Sundafu perfected his craft as a songwriter and record producer learning from a legend while working on superstar artist Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton, TLC, Robin Thicke, Aretha Franklin and Celine Dion. Babyface’s smooth producing style and creative song writing techniques were instilled in Sundafu as a student of music.
Today, Sundafu recently completed producing the much-anticipated Angela Via “Ready To Fly” record for Virgin Records. The albums set to be released in the summer 2007, brings a mix of Latin, R&B, pop and soul to her music. The album features hits such as “Baila Baila” and “Finally.” Co-written by Sundafu and BMI award winner M’jestie, the album features newcomer Nick Chavez. Compared to the likes of Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys and Lauryn Hill, Via and Sundafu have created a record destined for worldwide success.
Sundafu has quickly become one of the hottest new record producers in the music industry. His ability to develop talent, write inspiring songs and artistically produce records has landed him a spot among the elite. His experience and expertise will undoubtedly accelerate him as he continues to rise to the top of the world’s music industry.
