For the past 16 Years Sunday Blues with Dar is dedicated to preserving and encouraging appreciation of the blues as a living musical tradition among the South Florida Community; it is a nonprofit, volunteer-driven effort. Some of the Show activities include Promoting and hosting blues concerts, open jams, and festivals; working with music teachers and other educators to enhance the learning experience with the Blues In The Schools Program serving as open forums for the exchange of musical ideas, and dispersing the news of blues-related events in the community. The "wildly popular", 3 hour radio broadcast - THE SUNDAY BLUES WITH DAR, on 88.5FM WKPX. Has a mission: to help spread the gospel of the blues. Helping fans find their heart's desires in any and all forms of the blues. The show is a mix of Traditional, Contemporary, Delta, Chicago, Hill Country, Acoustic and Texas style blues, with some Funk, Soul , Rhythm and Blues, Swing and more. Dar mixes up the playlist with unsigned artists, local talent, and the 411 on blues events and shows in the area. Combined with some of the funniest promos ever recorded by local and national blues players, it always has something for everyone. Recognized as the "Best Show on the Radio" by New Times magazine in 2000, and voted as a "Hall of Fame DJ" by City Link in 2001, the Sunday Blues and Dar have made their presence known in the Blues Community, and has been reviewed for some of the most important National magazines such as Jazziz and Amped, as well as the CNM Newsmakers from CNN Headlines and the King Biscuit Time Show in Helena AK.
