Sundayveil
The band is no more, but hears a quick history. Formed in 2001 we did what all bands do, play shows, play shows, play shows. That relentlessness early on granted me the honor of sharing the stage with alternative acts like 7 mary three, dishwalla, and Classic rock greats like molly hatchet, 3 dog night, and bad company just to name a few, as well as gaining a dedicated following, before recorded the burning satellites EP. The six plus years we were together we tried, and succeeded in many ways, to bring attention to local music in the area. Newspapers such as the Hattiesburg American, and the Laurel Leader Call have all written about the band in some way; along with online interviews like Taste It TV (best known for their work with major label acts like My Chemical Romance)We always tried to raise the bar on what an unsigned act could achieve, helping lay groundwork for the scene springing up and down through the years. Sundayveil has received airplay on stations ranging from 99 Rock in Destin, FL where the band was given 100% caller feedback for our track, Meek.(a first in the stations history) Rock 93.9 of Jackson, MS, 90.3 the Rock WUTK, Bulldog Radio Ferris State University, countless online stations, 103.7 the Fox in Hattiesburg, MS, and Rock 104.5 in Hattiesburg, Laurel have also given Sundayveil airplay. The band most recently caught attention from the nationally syndicated radio shows, Hard Drive with Lou Brutus and Listen In...rock on purpose with Frank Jenks, who salutes artists for there lyrical talent, while giving bands a national platform of listeners. We were featured on the program on January 20 through March 2007 where we humbly brushed shoulders with major label acts such as U2, Switchfoot, Linkin Park, P.O.D, Disturbed,and many others. Frank Jenks, producer & host of the show, dedicated an entire segment to the band, playing three out of five songs from the ep. (Yet another first!) Along with a stunning review by Frank, and an interview with myself. This proved to be a major highlight in the bands history. Even with indie, and major labels pressing to hear new material, the band had unfortunately run it's course. I, having no desire to conform to radio standards and be just another modern rock band. We needed a fresh start and a new perspective. I am now on my own and recording new songs that just make me smile, bob my head, tap my foot, play air drums, and really remember why I started playing music in the first place. (Not for a deal and defiantly not on their terms) So, I hope you guy's dig it on some level and come with me on my journey.. to find the band, album, live show, movement of creativity I have always heard in my head, and that has always driven me forward!
