It is with great sadness that we read this morning of the passing of the Godfather of Soul, James Brown.

In 1966 Sunny hit #1 in Cashbox - but that was far from the beginning of the story. Bobby Hebb played lead guitar on the 1962 hit "Rinky Dinky" by Dave "Baby" Cortez. He also played guitar for the great Roscoe Shelton, John Lee Hooker, and replaced Mickey Baker in the duo "Mickey & Sylvia". Sylvia Robinson continued to sing "Love Is Strange" onstage at The Blue Morrocco, only it was as part of the "Bobby & Sylvia" team.

Bobby also toured with Jimmy Page & The Yardbirds, Brian Hyland, Gary Lewis & The Playboys and many others.
Summer 1966 the song "A Satisfied Mind" also hit the Top 40 for Bobby Hebb. It was a smash for Porter Wagoner in the 1950s.
In 1972 the song "Love Love Love" re-launched from the 6 year old Sunny album to become a huge "Northern Soul" Top 40 hit in the United Kingdom.

Germany as the sound quality is dreadfully poor (the bootlegger just took it haphazardly off of the vinyl) and it is not fair to you, the fans, or to Bobby. We have the best versions available and plan on releasing all sorts of projects old and new. Stay tuned!

He asked me to continue writing things with a positive idea. But he gave me some good advice and it helps me, not only as an individual, but it helps me to help others. A good man, Irving Berlin."
