Long before brothers Paul and Joel North knew being musicians could mean more then bedroom recordings, Sunnybrook was a hobby. Passion filled experimental pop that hints towards a large scale idea, leaving space for resonance. Paul North composes guitar, music boxes, dissonant vocal harmonies, and hand clap percussion that all incorporate a low-fi tape fuzz, offering Joel North free reign on string composition and studio engineering. Influenced by such acts as Brian Wilson, Elliott Smith, Arthur Russell, Nico Muhly, Phosphorescent, and Songs: of Green Pheasant-- the two young composers mix styles of old psychedelia and new folk to communicate with others.
