Having sharpened her skills in cyphers and on stage for almost 10 years, Sunny D the RedSonia is now ready to bring it to the world. She released her first EP with production from local wizards Time One, Kid Epic and DJ Chocolate. The CD was completely organized and financed by the woman herself. Now she's taken on a brand new monicker, a new attitude and focus, and a new producer. Sunny D's stepped into the studio with D-Ray from the Rhythmicru, forging a new sound for her sophomore effort along with DJ Sawtay at her live shows.
Her music reflects the hip hop roots which have had her firmly in their grasp for more than 15 years, and her lyrics reflect the take-no-shit tomboy attitude and confidence with which she carries herself in her daily life.
Bike courier by day, brazen femcee by night, Sunny D is a real-life superhero conquering this frigid Canadian winter, one microphone - and one package - at a time.
