Formed by Ivan James and Christopher Grosse, Sunny's Violet Rays have come a long way since its inception in 2006.
Gerard's ever upbeat bass-lines added a whole new level of jive to the band's feel.
After shifting through various line ups, Shan was eventually settled to be the drummer for SVR in 2007.
The keyboard was a relatively new instrument in the band's sound, which is played by Basil, who joined in early 2008.
Overall the band's sound can be said as indie/rock with a touch of alternative music.
Perhaps the best way to give an example would be to cite the band's influences, which include Coldplay, Augustana, Dishwalla and Oasis.
SVR are no stranger to gigs and have participated in quite a few notable events including Milkrun,
an annual charity event that we have been playing at since 2007.
