Superphase is the New York-based original music groupe fronted by songwriter/musickists Mark Ormerod and Jason Grant (Claude and The Avante Bard, respectively) ,whose stylings vary from original folk-rock, to catchy latin-pop grooves and experimental electronica. There really is nothing off limits as far as influence, yet the combination of the different writing styles between Mark and Jason gel nicely and the band indeed has, its own unique sound. The band has performed at times as an acoustic trio, two guitars, two vocals, and upright bass, but normally plays as a full 4-piece rock band. On lead guitar and backing vocals is Mark, or Claude as is his musical alter-ego. Jason (The Avante Bard) is the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist. Watertown's
favorite son Kyle Vock plays both electric and upright bass. And last but certainly not least, Andrew Greeney blesses each tune with his skills on
the drumkit. Superphase has performed under the names 'Seahorse' and before that 'Sun Pie' until December 2005, the same time that the band took a breif hiatus from live performance to begin recording demo material for their eventual debut album.
