Frank Zappa, Gong, Soft Machine, White Noise, Beastie Boys, Boards of Canada, Groove Armada, Massive Attack, Beatles, Radiohead, DJ Shadow, Beck, Ernest Ranglin, Skatalites, Nick Drake, Kid Loco, African music, folk like Bert Jansch/Pentangle, early Funkadelic, - basically my ipod is crammed full of stuff including folk, trip hop, western art music, funk (jazz dance), electronica, psychedelic, rock - really anything I can get my hands on! I also listen to the Radio - often Radio 1, 3, 4. I wish I had more time to listen to my old vinyl which is in my attic!....

SUNRETURN is an electronic/acoustic music project started by Nick Marshall in 2006. The First Sunreturn live gig was at The Gong Unconvention at The Melkweg, Amsterdam, in November 2006, where Nick kicked things off in The Old Hall on Sunday, and was joined by guests Brian Abbott, Tim Hall, Fabio Golfetti, Mark Robson and Edd Brooks. Nick created the 'Patterns E.P.' at this time, it is available at gigs. In December 2006 Nick was joined by Faith Rhodes for a gig at The Voodoo Lounge in Plymouth, they played quite a few more gigs in 2007 including a support with Ozric Tentacles at Exeter Pheonix, and released 'Simulcra', a 4 track CD of them improvising live with sax, guitar and computer.
Nick, Faith and drummer Tim Crowley & bass player Rich Taylor have now started a live band (Sungroove Messengers) so Sunreturn is having a bit of a rest!

On Monday 26th May 2008, Café Concrete will host a special event as part of the Flipside Film Festival. This will feature 8mm film works to accompany selected Café Concrete sound works. The evening will also feature live performances from Jonny3snareS and Gecko Hooks, plus a DJ set by Koombe.
