Artsun's Sunshine Coast Blues Club was formed after the outstanding response to the first Sunshine Coast Blues Festival in 2005. The Coast's Blues musicians saw the need to get together and express their love for the Blues on a regular basis and after an extensive search found a home at the crossroads in Nambour.
The Royal George Hotel has been the place to Boogie to the Blues on the first Thursday of the month since 1st of February 2007.
Jam Coordinators, Al Hensley and Bob Lee, along with the house band and a host of guest performers, are keeping the Blues alive on the coast with a welcome to all players to join in and spread the word of the Blues.
The word certainly does seem to be spreading with performers from across the coast regularly joined by visitors from Brisbane and interstate who appreciate the laid back atmosphere and dedication to the blues that our jam embodies.
The growing popularity of the Jam at The Royal George has inspired our members to reach out to the north end of the coast with another opportunity for players to get together at Noosa on the third Wednesday of the Month. Noosa Jam coordinators Kath Williams & Paul Martin welcome Blues lovers to join them and the house band for good times and great music.
Come along and add your name to the blackboard, and join us for a jam, or bring some friends for a few drinks and hear some great Blues. Blackboard opens 7:00 pm...come early if you want to play. The Noosa Yacht and Rowing Club has Great food at reasonable prices and is a licensed club, and top venue with friendly atmosphere and staff, great food and views.... sitting right on the shores of Noosa River with full bar and restaurant.! I had my marketing cap on about a week ago and with all the bad news; the Taliban in Pakistan, the looming Chyrsler bankruptcy, the new flu epidemic, etc; I decided to go with a more optimistic theme for this summer in a bumper sticker (old school). I think its working. There are currently a little more than 50 cars in the Branson area sporting this lil’ beauty. (Yes, I comped them) What do you think?
Hi from Indianola, MS, home of BB King and the new $16M BB King Blues Museum! BB King Homecoming is Friday, June 5th and it's going to be a very special one. BB has recently purchased the famous Club Ebony (where Keb Mo' showed up for the Sunday Evening Jam last week!) and will be playing there after his Concert in the Park. It is incredible to see the King of the Blues work at such close range. Check out our page and come see us when you visit!
Thanks for the add, we are booking all our bands through Book a Band Direct.com.au this year. It's free to register during March so sign up so we can hook up.
