   About Suns of Banditos

Formed in late summer of 2006 With just 3 members (Rob, Craig & Jim). With the aid of a drum sampler, began 2 write tunes... The first of which was 'No reason' Which is played first in the current live set. As time went by, the drum machine became a big problem as jamming was becoming more and more stale and boring...... The banditos decided it was time for a real drummer. By this time we had already added another excellent guitarist 2 our arsenal, A young gent by the name of Reece Kirkham. But now what? We found the answer in 'Top bloke' Alex Foster smith who was a guitarist, friend and landlord of the most excellent White Swan in Drakeholes. The Banditos had often played with Alex before but he had never played drums, but when he picked up the stix, a natural talent seemed 2 emerge........ After only 3 months of Al playing drums and in this current lineup, the Suns began playing gigs. The first of which was at a local pub 'The king William'. In the 6 months since this first show, the band have played all over Doncaster as well as various other towns impressing many with there subtle blend of balls to the wall Rock n Roll, Indie, funk and psychadelia. Keep your eyes...... open. 2008...... Year of the Bandito! THIS IS NOT AN EXIT. http://www.doncastermusicweek.co.uk/events_and_booking/product/355

Hello,
We are playing The Leopard in Donny on the 24th of February.
It would be great if you could pop in (as we are foreigners from Sheffield, and will be scared and lonely in a new town).

We put on a good show, but don't take out word for it here's some nice stuff other people have said.

An Amazing Live Act {Sandman Magazine)

Real feel-good stick in you head tunes (Sheffield Music Scene Magazine)

Promising Song writers (Tom Robinson BBC Radio 6).

Thursday February 26th @ The Packhorse, Leeds

GREAT ESKIMO HOAX
Somewhere between the spasmodic mathpop of Youthmovies & the synth-drenched quirkiness of Cats in Paris lie West Midlands trio Great Eskimo Hoax, with vocals at once melodic & shouty cutting through carefully textured guitars, keys and insistent drum pulses.

http://www. myspace. com/greateskimohoax

MINNAARS
Intense, danceable, epic: that Forward Russia's Tom Woodhead has been working as their producer gives an idea as to where they're coming from, but Minnaars add to that sound an incredible variety through the use of loops, unpredictable structures & duelling synth & guitar.

http://www. myspace. com/minnaars

THE BLACKBIRD APPEAL
Whispered vocals & thick, fuzzy guitars at the front; along with drums cranking the tempo up at the back, eking slices of pop out of a shoegazey-haze.
