After forming in 2006 with the drive to create dynamic original music, SunSwitch explore the boundaries of pop/progressive/acoustic/rock with solid musical grooves, and lyrics that people can relate to. With influences such as Incubus, The Verve, Tool, REM, Neil Young, and many more SunSwitch were a big success when they played two live sets at the Hokitika Wildfoods Festival in March 09 to a crowd of over ten thousand and have recently supported rock acts such as the Midnight Youth, and DejaVoodoo for N.Z Music month and the Valves in January 09 also.
Since the RECORDING of their first 4 Track E.P titled "Before I Go" in JUNE 2007 at "Tandem Studios" now "Tandem Voice Booth", the band has achieved great success with various crowds, delivering energetic live performances at home and away touring, gaining momentum towards future gigs and recording opportunities to come.
SunSwitch were placed 1st track on an 'Acoustika' Compilation series cd with the single 'Before I go' in 2008. .
"SUNSWITCH" enjoyed their debut years in the music scene,
in and around Christchurch during 2006/2007, including an opening support slot for NZ's top rock acts "OPSHOP' and 'The VALVES' at 'THE CIVIC' main stage, and were pleased to co-ordinate a successful gig in late '07 with Auckland touring band 'Sonic Altar'
In 2008 'SunSwitch' have performed to epic rocking crowds at 'The Drop' bar and the 'Dux de Lux', and were fortunate to add their DEBUT MUSIC VIDEO to this site, check it out now!
